Our client is a highly respected civil engineering firm, established in 1999 and recognized among NJBIZ's Top 25 Engineering Firms. With a team of experienced engineers and inspectors, the firm has played a key role in delivering landmark transportation projects across New York and New Jersey.

Description:
Immediate need for someone to do Civil Engineering Inspection, Construction Management, and closeout services for structural, civil, MEP, and construction projects associated with tenant construction. Services include providing construction oversight, field inspection, technical coordination, and administrative support to ensure tenant projects are completed in accordance with plans, specifications and Port standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform construction inspection activities throughout all phases of the project.
• Prepare daily narratives and reports.
• Identify potential extra work and report back to the Assistant Resident Engineer or Resident Engineer.
• Prepare extra work estimates and supporting documentation.
• Review plans for constructability and provide comments.
• Coordinate inspections at multiple work locations.
• Perform quality assurance inspections of completed work.
• Coordinate work activities, closures, and utility shutdowns with operations and maintenance staff.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience inspecting construction work of various sizes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Must be able to obtain a TWIC badge and undergo background check.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience preparing daily reports and contract documents.
• Ability to coordinate with contractors and Resident Engineers.
• Working knowledge of construction safety standards.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willing to work nights and weekends if required.

Education:
BSCE - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar engineering degree.
