Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Government in leading systems engineering efforts across the National System of Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and Federal Agencies. This role applies a multi-disciplinary approach to requirements engineering, solutions engineering, systems integration, resiliency, reliability, test and evaluation, maintainability, and performance analysis to ensure timely and accurate GEOINT delivery across enterprise environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide Mid-level and Junior-level Systems Engineers in performing requirements engineering, solutions engineering, systems integration, reliability, resiliency, test and evaluation, maintainability, and performance analysis activities across NSG, ASG, and Federal Agencies.
  • Support planning activities and the analysis and traceability of user requirements, system architectures, workflows, procedures, and operational limitations to improve or automate existing capabilities.
  • Guide engineering teams in developing solution designs based on mission requirements, technical analysis, and emerging technologies.
  • Assist the Government in translating mission and customer needs into system and capability requirements and engineered solutions.
  • Support requirements decomposition, allocation, and traceability across systems architecture components and executing programs.
  • Perform systems integration activities across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid enterprise environments.
  • Conduct Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.
  • Support strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design activities.
  • Operate across organizational and agency boundaries to support the integration of multiple systems, services, processes, and interfaces within Major Systems Acquisitions.
Location: This position is fully onsite in either Chantilly or Springfield, VA
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical or scientific discipline such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
    • Additional experience may be substituted for a degree (4 years with no degree or 2 years with a non-STEM degree).
  • 12+ years of experience supporting government or industry programs in areas such as DoD/IC Acquisition Processes, Requirements Processes, PPBES Processes, or systems engineering of large, complex System-of-Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture environments.
  • Experience with and understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprise environments.
  • Previous experience supporting NGA, NSG/ASG programs/projects.
  • Previous experience supporting IC, or DoD programs/projects.
  • Experience supporting cloud, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructures.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain SCI eligibility and successfully pass a polygraph.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical or scientific discipline such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
  • Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies, processes, tools, and languages.
  • Working knowledge of Digital Engineering processes and tools.
  • Working knowledge of Software Development Frameworks.
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
  • Documented experience supporting geospatial intelligence programs or initiatives.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Membership or leadership participation in professional organizations such as ACSM, ASCE, ASPRS, OGC, SAREM, or USGIF.
  • Demonstrated expertise in photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information science, geographic information systems (GIS), geomatics, or related technical disciplines.

Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
