About this role:  

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Linux Engineer to join our growing team to help us build, ship, and secure world class, mission critical systems deployed across a variety of platforms and environments. The ideal candidate will have deep hands on experience managing, configuring, and troubleshooting systems that run on Linux, preferably RHEL.

Some of what you’ll do:

  • Design, build, and maintain server and network infrastructure running on the Linux operating system (we use mostly RHEL).
  • Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems
  • Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups
  • Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access.
  • Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses
  • May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software
  • Support functional and system level testing

Requirements

Skills and experience you bring:  

  • 4+ years of experience in Linux systems engineering or administration in a high-availability production environment.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux distribution internals (RHEL/CentOS ecosystem or Debian/Ubuntu).
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and experience with post-mortem documentation.
  • Ability to obtain US Secret clearance  
  • US Citizen

Nice to have: 

  • Big plus: RedHat Certifications (RHCE, RHCA, etc)
  • Experience in DevSecOps
  • Understanding of Linux networking and network troubleshooting
  • Experience with Ansible 
  • Experience with STIG compliance and security applications  
  • Exposure to cybersecurity principles
  • B.S. in STEM  or engineering field (Software, Math, Physics, Electrical, etc.)
  • Active US Secret clearance

Salary Range: $135,000 - $180,000
