Senior Litigation and E-Discovery Services Analyst
Cooley is seeking a Senior LEDS Analyst to join the Litigation & E-Discovery Services team.
Position Summary:
The Senior Litigation & E-Discovery Services Analyst provides support and administration of litigation technology, applications, and systems as part of the LEDS department. This role coordinates litigation support service needs for Cooleys litigation practice, providing back-up support and guidance to LEDS team members across the firm, including vendor management.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design and maintain litigation databases to manage data for review, production, and analysis. • Support firm litigation attorneys, E-Discovery attorneys, and legal teams with all aspects of litigation support from case inception through trial. • Coordinate and handle requests for new or modified databases created using litigation applications, including Relativity/RelOne, CSDisco, Concordance, LAW Pre-Discovery, and outside service and software systems for litigation support. • Provide technical support and advice related to litigation technology and electronic discovery. • Work with E-Discovery attorneys and legal teams to execute document indexes and perform keyword searches. • Coordinate with E-Discovery attorneys and legal teams with project planning, developing document review protocols, searching, testing, and sampling, and all aspects of litigation document review and production. • Conduct quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of document productions, including privilege and confidentiality designations and redactions. • Maintain a working knowledge of and stay current on e-discovery and litigation support technology. • Participate in management of litigation support and E-Discovery vendor relationships. • Provide training and support to legal teams on the use of litigation support systems and applications. • Train legal teams to use search syntax for use in searching litigation review databases. • Maintain documentation of work performed on litigation-related client data, from receipt through conclusion of matter. • Develop process documentation and user training materials as directed. • Maintain and administer LEDS workflow documentation tools and systems. • Troubleshoot issues as they arise with litigation teams, systems, and processes. • Follow LEDS department and firm policies and procedures related to litigation data management and all aspects of litigation support. • Adhere to firm-wide client/matter data classification and management standards in identification of client-related data. • Communicate with and provide back-up support to LEDS colleagues in other offices. • Expectation to bill time on an hourly basis. • Ensure accurate and timely entry of billable and non-billable time and review IntApp entries prior to month-end closing. • All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
Required:
• After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage, and other firm applications. • Available to work overtime, as required. • Available to travel, as required. • 6+ years experience in litigation and e-discovery services (including administering litigation review database applications, e.g., Relativity, LAW Pre-Discovery, Concordance, and Magnum Opus), along with the proven ability to operate at an elevated level in terms of scope of responsibility, judgment, and autonomy. • Proficient with standard computer equipment, laptops, and printers and generally familiar with all aspects of software interaction with network systems and business application systems. • Thorough understanding of relational databases, litigation support-related software and technology, and the fundamentals of desktop and network operating systems. • Experience with litigation preparedness and response, including electronic discovery and related support. • Technical knowledge of and experience with the latest information technology tools and standards to support enterprise information management, as well as applications in data analytics to help organizations manage, classify, and efficiently use information. • Conversant with electronic discovery and risk management issues, concepts, and legal ramifications.

The expected hourly pay range for this position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week is $53.00 - $74.00 ($110,240.00 - $153,920.00 annually). Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
