The Senior Loan Officer position is a critical role within the institution, as it is responsible for building a high-quality portfolio while marketing the ARM brand.  A deep understanding of the agricultural market and the corresponding network within your local area is essential.  In an effort to meet the ever-increasing demands of the farmer, while also increasing ARM’s market-share, the goals will be centered around formulating business-development strategies to ensure the long-term success of the location.  

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Meeting the growth objectives of the Location  
• Adherence to ARM policies and procedures 
• Responsible for managing risk and collection activities of the portfolio 
• Assist in the hiring / development of Location employees 

• Assist in optimizing the location’s loan operations to ensure efficiency and a positive client experience 
• Assist in loan and marketing efforts within the area / region. 
• Formulating business development strategies to ensure long-term success. 
• Works in conjunction with Corporate on all legal, accounting, human resources, facilities, and corporate procedure compliance matters. 
• Provides written and oral reports on location operations.  

• Conducts regular and frequent visits with clients to build relationships resulting in the generation of new loans. 

• Interprets and understands all loan reporting and utilizes them to train and equip their team toward location achievement and profitability. 

Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements

• Strong agriculture background with business development experiences a must 
• 3-5+ years of experience of credit and underwriting. 
• Leadership experience a plus, but not required 
• Ability to build relationships to promote loan volume and credit quality. 

• Must be self-motivating and driven. 
• Excellent communication skills. 
• Experience with loan documentation. 

Physical Demands

• Generally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, handle documents, bend and stoop as needed, and reach with hands and arms
• Required to use a keyboard and computer regularly
• Specific vision abilities required, including those required to perform extensive computer-related work
• Must be able to verbally communicate with others and exchange accurate information
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to distinguish sound and perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction

Work Environment

• Moderate noise (i.e., home office with computer, phone, and printers)
• Ability to sit at a computer for an extended period
