Pono Aina Management LLC is currently seeking a Senior Logistician Support Specialist (SLS) to join their team. This senior logistics role delivers expert sustainment and asset management support for the Royal Australian Air Force’s F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler fleets across North America. The position plays a critical role in ensuring the effective management of spares, support equipment, technical data, and logistics systems that keep the Australian fleet operationally ready. The successful candidate will provide high-level analysis, advice, and coordination between the Australian Liaison Office, NAVAIR, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), and other U.S. supply chain stakeholders in a complex international defense sustainment environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and provide senior-level advice on sustainment systems program management, including schedule reviews, technical issue resolution, and performance reporting
  • Manage the Commonwealth’s asset management systems and processes within North America for the F/A-18F and EA-18G fleets
  • Coordinate the exchange of technical data, publications, and logistics information between RAAF and U.S. stakeholders
  • Oversee requests for Support & Test Equipment, calibration services, and repairable items
  • Track and manage logistics-related Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Technical Directives (TDs), and supply issues
  • Support the identification, monitoring, and resolution of logistics risks and supply chain bottlenecks
  • Liaise with NAVAIR, DLA, Boeing, and other supply chain partners to ensure timely delivery of materiel and services
  • Contribute to program reviews, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives for Australian sustainment activities
  • Provide logistics input to risk management, forecasting, and long-term capability planning

 

Mandatory Requirements:

  • U.S. or Australian Citizenship
  • Current or ability to obtain a U.S. SECRET clearance (or Australian AGSVA equivalent)
  • Significant experience in the operation, maintenance, acquisition, or sustainment of tactical military aircraft (F/A-18 experience highly preferred)
  • Strong project management and coordination skills in a defence program setting

 

Important Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of U.S. DoD and USN logistics systems and processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex logistics issues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel) and logistics information systems
  • Experience with asset management, inventory control, and Support & Test Equipment (S&TE)

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Requires the ability to walk short distances.
  • Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. the worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
