Position: Business Operations Analyst
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Duration: 1 year to start (possible extension based on performance)

Actual Title:
Position Summary
We are seeking a versatile Business Operations Analyst to manage the daily execution of our fleet and logistics workflows. This role focuses on the hands-on coordination of assets, tracking carrier performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and resolving daily transit disruptions.
Because we operate in a dynamic environment, you will also serve as a cross-functional resource, supporting various other business operations tasks and ad-hoc projects as operational needs evolve.



Key Responsibilities
Fleet & Logistics Execution
Daily Tracking & Dispatch
  • Monitor vehicle locations, transit statuses, and dispatch loads to ensure on-time deliveries.
Carrier & Field Support
  • Serve as the main contact for 3PL providers and drivers to resolve daily delays, route disruptions, and documentation issues.
Compliance & Safety
  • Maintain daily compliance with DOT regulations, HOS/ELD rules, driver credential tracking, and vehicle registrations/permits.
Maintenance & Audits
  • Coordinate routine vehicle servicing and audit daily logs (DVIRs and carrier invoices) for accuracy.


Logistics Data Analysis
  • Analyze logistics data and monitor internal pull systems (WMS/ERP) to ensure inventory accuracy and seamless material flow.
  • Regularly communicate with the warehouse team to update part availability and ensure proper supply chain functioning.


Change Management & System Alignment
  • Maintain system alignment by analyzing, debugging, and correlating data during transfers between various platforms.


General Business Operations
Reporting & Data Maintenance
  • Update daily operational dashboards and compile performance metrics for management.
Cross-Functional Support
  • Assist other departments (Finance, Procurement, Facilities) with routine administrative tasks, data entry, and operational bottlenecks.
Ad-Hoc Projects
  • Adapt quickly to execute special operational projects and tasks outside the core logistics scope as business needs change.


Qualifications & Skills
Experience
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research, or a related field.
Professional Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a business operations, logistics, or fleet analysis role.


Technical & Analytical Skills
  • Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools to build operational dashboards.
  • Strong competency in managing large datasets, conducting variance analysis, and performing cost-benefit calculations.
  • Familiarity with Fleet Management Software (FMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is highly desirable.


Soft Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and with external vendors.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for operational detail and process inefficiencies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
