Description

POSITION SNAPSHOT: This opportunity is for a highly experienced senior level CNC Machinist responsible for setting up, operating, programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining a variety of advanced machining equipment, including horizontal and vertical multi-axis machines. The role requires the ability to interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to manufacture precision components while meeting stringent quality and production standards. Responsibilities include selecting tooling and fixtures, adjusting machine parameters, editing or writing G-code, optimizing machining processes, and collaborating with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to resolve technical challenges and improve operational efficiency.

The position places a strong emphasis on precision manufacturing, quality assurance, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate must be able to maintain extremely tight tolerances, utilize a wide range of precision measuring instruments, and ensure compliance with aerospace and manufacturing quality standards. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate production and inventory records, performing equipment upkeep, supporting 5S and housekeeping initiatives, and assisting with the training and development of less experienced team members when needed. A strong understanding of material properties, machining principles, geometry, and trigonometry is essential for success in this role.

Qualified candidates should possess 8-12 years of experience in a CNC manufacturing environment utilizing multi-axis machining equipment, along with demonstrated expertise in machining processes, machine setup, and precision inspection techniques. Preferred qualifications include completion of a machinist apprenticeship or technical training program, experience with CAD/CAM software and advanced CNC programming, and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, safety-focused, capable of working independently with minimal supervision, and able to contribute effectively within a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

ITAR regulated facility. The hiring team has the discretion of up to a $10,000 sign on bonus for this role as well as relocation assistance for qualified candidates that require it. Projected compensation is $29.00 to $46.00 per hour.
