Position: Mainframe BMC Automation SME

Salary - $150,000 - $155,000

Job Description:

As a Senior Mainframe Engineer with BMC experience, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our mainframe network infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our z/OS communication environment, including VTAM, TCP/IP, SNA, Sysplex, and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Convert the system automation utilizing BMC Mainview Current State Manager (CSM) to Total Object Manager (TOM).
  • Create and maintain REXX execs, and rules in the current automation environment.
  • Provide on-call sup
  • port and respond within the agreed SLA. Satisfy any on-site support requirements as required.
  • Installing, customizing, maintenance and migration to new levels of OEM and ISV Software Products.
  • Support Disaster Recovery exercises.
  • Manage changes within standard control processes and mechanisms.
  • Produce clear technical documentation and conform to any audit requirements.
  • Provide training on the use of BMC Total Object Manager.
  • Conform to customer audit requirements.

Requirements:

  • Must have 4 years of progressive experience in mainframe technical support.
  • Excellent knowledge and use of z/OS components with detailed knowledge of supporting hardware.
  • Strong leadership, time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communications, and interpersonal skills.
  • Eager to build professional relationships with staff and clients.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and independently seek out and interact with colleagues and outside vendors.
  • Ability to understand & facilitate decision making on key issues concerning a project.
  • Capability to shuffle priorities in response to a changing workload.
  • Flexibility to keep up with changing technology.
