Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Mainframe Infrastructure Engineer with strong hands-on experience in IBM zSeries, LPARs, HCD/HCM, IOGEN, FICON, Cisco FICON switches, and data-center infrastructure. The role will support mainframe hardware configuration, troubleshooting, installations, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and cross-functional infrastructure projects.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain IBM zSeries, LPARs, HCD/HCM, and IOGEN.
  • Manage FICON, Cisco FICON switches, Cisco ACI, fiber, and mainframe-to-storage connectivity.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise/mainframe hardware.
  • Support data-center operations, capacity planning, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
  • Coordinate hardware installations, upgrades, maintenance, and vendor activities.
  • Collaborate with Network, Storage, Operations, Facilities, and Architecture teams.
  • Lead cross-functional infrastructure projects and resolve hardware/connectivity issues.
  • Provide 24x7/on-call support as required.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree – Required.
  • 10+ years of IT experience with 8+ years in engineering/infrastructure.
  • Strong IBM zSeries/Mainframe experience.
  • Hands-on FICON, Cisco, HCD/HCM, IOGEN, LPAR experience.
  • Experience with enterprise hardware, storage, virtualization, networking, and data centers.
  • Strong troubleshooting, project coordination, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Local to Dearborn/Flat Rock and available for frequent onsite data-center work.
