Who We Need
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Maintenance Technician to join the facilities team at a 423-unit luxury residential community in Chestnut Hill.
This is an important role within a highly experienced building operations team and is ideal for a skilled maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting, completing hands-on repairs, taking ownership of projects, and maintaining high standards throughout a residential community.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Facilities Manager and other members of the maintenance team to support the daily operation, maintenance, and long-term care of the property. The position offers the opportunity to expand technical knowledge, take on increasing responsibility, and grow professionally within a well-established residential community.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Candidates must possess excellent communication and customer service skills, be professionally mannered and reliable, and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidates who live within approximately 20 miles of the community are preferred for efficient response time.
Pay is commensurate with experience.
What You'll Do
The Senior Maintenance Technician works collaboratively with the Facilities Manager and maintenance team to support the reliable operation, maintenance, and appearance of the property's building systems, common areas, grounds, and other community features.
Responsibilities include:
Perform preventive, routine, responsive, and emergency maintenance throughout the property.Diagnose and troubleshoot building maintenance and mechanical issues and complete repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, flooring, HVAC, and general building systems.Complete resident work orders and provide in-unit maintenance services, including minor repairs, light bulb replacements, and general handyman services.Inspect buildings, grounds, common areas, and the physical plant; identify maintenance needs and address issues proactively.Assist with preventive maintenance programs and special projects in coordination with the Facilities Manager and Property Manager.Work professionally with residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow team members to support the property's daily operations and maintenance needs.Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment and comply with all company safety and operating policies.Complete work orders, maintenance records, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.Participate in the property's established after-hours emergency on-call rotation, as required.
What We're Looking For
Experience & Technical Skills
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, or a related skilled trade.Experience in a residential, condominium, hospitality, commercial, or institutional environment preferred.Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, painting, flooring, and general building maintenance.Experience with preventive maintenance programs and building systems strongly preferred.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.Proficiency with general maintenance equipment, including hand tools, power tools, ladders, and required safety equipment.Basic computer and internet skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.Strong customer service skills and a professional, courteous manner when interacting with residents, vendors, contractors, and team members.Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner.Dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and committed to high-quality work.Positive, respectful, and team-oriented approach, with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.Willingness and ability to learn new systems, equipment, procedures, and technical skills.Interest in taking on increasing responsibility and continuing to develop professionally within building operations.
Physical Requirements
Ability to move up to 50 pounds variable distances.Ability to climb and work from ladders at heights in excess of 8 feet.Ability to work outdoors when necessary, including in temperatures above 90 degrees or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.Ability to safely perform the physical requirements associated with building maintenance and repair.Hands-on repair and maintenance work constitutes the majority of the position's duties.
