Job Description

Job Summary

The Senior Maintenance Technician ensures a safe, functional, and compliant environment for patients, staff, and visitors at Shriners Children's Lexington. This role involves performing highly skilled mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs, while actively leading preventative maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will possess advanced troubleshooting skills, a strong understanding of healthcare compliance standards set by The Joint Commission (TJC), and the agility to respond to urgent facility needs during scheduled on-call rotations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operates, inspects, maintains, calibrates and repairs utility equipment, systems and structures throughout the building

• Performs mechanical repairs to include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and HVAC.

• Performs preventative maintenance to ensure proper equipment operation.

• Ensures proper safety education and demonstrates knowledge of facility safety policies.

• Covers evening, night and weekend shifts as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED

• 7 years maintenance/engineering experience required

• Plumbing experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Electrician license in state of practice

• HVAC certification

• Refrigeration certification 

• Boiler Operator License 

The pay range for this position is $23.92 - $35.87. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
