Job Description

PurposeThe Senior Maintenance Technician assures equipment and building meet regulatory requirements for safe operation. The Senior Maintenance Technician also maintains and repairs machinery and all functions of the building, with special focus on the Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration System and Fire System.

ResponsibilitiesGeneral

Service and repair all warehouse equipment and provide required documentation for each service performedComplete daily work orders and PM's scheduled for all rolling equipmentInspect, maintain, and repair HVAC units, fire systems, and refrigeration systemsSchedule routine building maintenance by performing mechanical, electrical and plumbing repairs, contacting external contractors as needed. Maintaining awareness of contractors on site and safety requirements.Solicit bids from outside contractors and oversee project and repairs performed by contractorsPerform plumbing, electrical, concrete, and any other carpentry duties necessary for the maintenance of the buildingPerform exterior jobs including but not limited to snow removal, lawn mowing/trimming, pruning of shrubs/bushes, strips and landscape improvements as requiredPerform preventative maintenance for facilities, fixtures, equipment, and machineryAdhere to company policies, standards and best practicesCommunicate with DC management daily updating management on issues that pertain to the property and equipment

Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration System

Monitor, maintain, and repair ammonia refrigeration or processing systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and valvesDiagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issuesStrictly adhere to OSHA, EPA, PSM (Process Safety Management) standards, and hazardous materials protocols

Fire System

Perform routine functional and visual tests on wet/dry pipe sprinkler systemsDiagnose control panel faults, sensor failures, and pressure dropsMaintain up-to-date logs of all test results, system deficiencies, and completed repairs to satisfy regulatory audits. Adhere to guidelines set by NFPA.

About You

High School Diploma or equivalent3-5 years' experience in maintenance of industrial equipment and machineryAmmonia Operator I certification requiredTechnical certification in industrial maintenance, HVAC, or refrigeration such as CIRO (Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator), CARO (Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator) preferredAbility to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manualsTrained Industrial Equipment Repairperson, including forklift and pallet jack mechanic certificationMust have a working knowledge of electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic concepts as well as knowledge of programmable controllers for mechanical equipment.Ability to read numbers and understand EnglishPositive work history including safety and attendanceMust possess and maintain a valid driver's licenseMust be able to travel up to 10 days per yearWillingness to work required shift schedules and varying days of the week including holidays and/or weekends as well as being on call in emergency situations

Physical Requirements

Must be able to bend, twist, kneel, squat, turn, reach, pull, push, balance and lift objects up to 85 pounds, in a fast-paced environment for extended period of timeMust be able to transport various objects weighing 20-85 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shiftMust have the ability to stand, walk and move about for extended periods of timeMust be able to climb ladders, work at elevated heights and work in tight spacesMust be able to stand and balance throughout the shift while operating industrial equipmentRegularly works in warehouse environment with heat and cold, including freezers, coolers and refrigerators in temperatures as low as -15 degrees Fahrenheit
