Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Technician to join one of our long term client’s team at (1) of their properties in Woodridge, IL (60517). The ideal candidate will have 3 years’ experience in residential maintenance (at least 1 year in a supervisory position), have experience with unit turns, have knowledge of basic maintenance, be self-motivated, be able to organize multiple tasks throughout the day and is self-sufficient. Plumbing and Carpentry experience is highly preferred. EPA and HVAC experience is required – certifications are highly preferred. This role is a direct hire role.

This role will be working with (1) community with 176 market rate units.

Salary: $24-$26/hour DOQ - This role is contract to hire (30-90 days before conversion) or can go direct hire with the right candidate.

Schedule: Monday-Friday: 8:00-5:00 OR M-F (possible Tuesday-Saturday). On-call rotation is required for this role.

A Maintenance Technician is responsible for the care and maintenance of our multifamily apartment communities including the interior units, exterior entrances, common areas, grounds, and amenity areas.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:

  • Assist in the preparation of market-ready units and monitor the condition of move-ins for the week. Check units just prior to move-ins for final condition.
  • Routine work orders must be responded to within twenty-four (24) hours and completed within the same time frame, when possible.
  • Maintenance of swimming pool, amenity areas, spas, and fountains.
  • Maintenance, daily cleaning, and repair of common areas (including sweeping, washing, and general cleaning).
  • Monitor security - all vacant units, outside doors of the clubhouse, and other maintenance and/or common facilities and amenities. Ensure doors are locked. General property safety and security and accident prevention, including key control.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor with residents.
  • Communicate regularly with the Maintenance Supervisor or Community Manager regarding issues and recommendations for property improvements.
  • Complete work orders including items such as appliance repairs, heating, and cooling systems, painting, light plumbing work, and light fixture replacement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in residential maintenance (1 year in a lead or supervisory role) – preventative maintenance, work orders and unit turns.
  • Plumbing and Carpentry experience is highly preferred.
  • EPA and HVAC experience is required – certifications are highly preferred.
  • Be able to pass a background check before employment.
  • Must have the ability to work weekends when necessary and be on-call as needed.
  • Have a valid driver's license and valid auto insurance – as this role will be roving between properties.
