What Youll Do
Oversee operational processes and accounting, including cost allocations, fixed assets, cash, prepaid expenses, and other short and long-term assets/liabilities. This includes reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, preparation of disclosure schedules for financial filings, and fluctuation analysis.
Manage day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal policies, and external audits.
Manage the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines.
Manage the international entity accounting close process for our international entities, including review of local management accounts and record foreign entity transactions.
Assist leadership with special projects.
Collaborate with other Finance and cross-functional teams on monthly close matters and other initiatives.
Work on process optimization and automation efforts to improve efficiency and effectiveness on a continuous basis using technology solutions and automation.
Work with external consultants, auditors, and internal stakeholders to implement and remediate key controls over financial reporting in preparation for Verkada's transition to a public company.
Participate in other assignments and ad hoc projects as required.
What You Bring
8+ years of experience in accounting and/or audit.
Big 4 audit firm experience preferred.
Worked in a SOX environment.
CPA (or equivalent) required.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field of study.
Experience with high-growth companies, ideally in the Software SaaS.
Inventory accounting experience is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
NetSuite ERP experience is a plus.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Ability to be onsite in our San Mateo HQ office 5 days a week.
