Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Clinical Supply Chain will oversee end-to-end supply management activities supporting commercial and late-stage clinical pharmaceutical products. Responsibilities include demand forecasting, supply planning, sourcing, logistics, inventory management, supplier relationship management, contract manufacturing oversight, financial planning, risk management, and supply chain process optimization.

This position will work closely with R&D, Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, CMC, Quality, Commercial, Marketing, Finance, and external manufacturing partners to ensure reliable and compliant product supply.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end clinical and commercial supply chain management, including planning, sourcing, logistics, inventory, and supplier relationships.
• Develop and maintain accurate pharmaceutical demand forecasts using market trends, promotional activities, regulatory considerations, and business inputs.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, and Finance teams to incorporate new product launches and lifecycle management into demand forecasts.
• Monitor forecast accuracy and implement continuous improvement initiatives using advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making.
• Develop and execute supply plans aligned with demand forecasts, production capacity, inventory targets, and business requirements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate supply risks, including capacity constraints, supplier compliance issues, regulatory delays, and manufacturing risks.
• Manage strategic relationships with contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) and other critical suppliers.
• Ensure supplier activities are performed in accordance with approved supply agreements and contractual obligations.
• Oversee financial commitments, including work orders, purchase orders, budgets, and manufacturing service agreements.
• Lead strategic business meetings with contract manufacturing and supply partners.
• Lead cross-functional teams responsible for critical supplier and supply chain initiatives.
• Support product strategy development by providing supply chain inputs, risk assessments, and recommendations.
• Own supply chain processes and make data-based risk and escalation decisions.
• Lead and support initiatives involving planning software, ERP utilization, logistics, product strategy, and supply chain processes.
• Partner with R&D, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, CMC, Quality, Commercial, and other stakeholders to support commercialization of clinical products.
• Support the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and ensure alignment across participating functions.
• Prepare and actively participate in Supply Chain Governance forums.
• Develop cost-efficient supply chain processes, systems, and operating models.
• Support evaluation and selection of potential suppliers and provide recommendations to senior management.
• Lead implementation of supply chain best practices across supply and distribution organizations.
• Support global supply chain initiatives as needed.
• Ensure supply chain activities are conducted compliantly, efficiently, and within budget.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• 8–12 years of relevant supply chain planning/management experience without a Master’s degree, or 6–8 years with a Master’s degree.
• Significant experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or FDA-regulated industry.
• Strong experience in supply chain planning, demand forecasting, and supply management.
• 3–5 years of experience with ERP systems, forecasting tools, and advanced Excel.
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end planning, purchasing, inventory management, and distribution processes.
• Experience managing global suppliers and strategic supplier relationships.
• Experience working with contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) and external supply partners.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing, GMP, Quality Assurance, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing supply chain activities supporting clinical and/or commercial pharmaceutical products.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and technical changes and their business and financial impact.
• Demonstrated experience with budget planning, financial commitments, and cost management.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to influence internal and external partners, including senior leadership.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Experience leading process improvement and supply chain optimization initiatives.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a complex, fast-paced environment.
