Job Description Summary:

The Senior Manager, Connections and Media role is responsible, in partnership with Brand Marketers, Content Partners and the broader cross-functional marketing community, for building and orchestrating best-in-class brand Connections plans across most relevant paid, earned, owned, and shared marketing connections points for the North American Operating Unit.

The ideal candidate will be able to link business strategy to communications strategy and translate the communication strategy into an optimal connections plan. This role also provides the vision and connections strategy that is fully integrated with Core Creative Ideas across connections to deliver brand objectives while deriving greater impact from our advertising and integrated communication efforts for priority brands.

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop prioritized investment strategies inclusive of internal and external investments to build strong connection plans across paid (Broadcast, On-line Video, Radio, Digital, Mobile, Search, OOH, Print, etc.), earned (PR, influencers, social), owned (packaging, liquid rewards, websites), and shared (passion point properties, customers) connection points along the consumer journey.

  • Interpret consumer insights and trends, develop communication strategies, evaluate historical learnings and performance (including Marketing Mix Modelling), and apply the latest industry and marketplace knowledge.

  • Directs the negotiations and execution of paid media investments for a brand(s) against national and/or local media (Broadcast, Print, Online, Radio, OOH, etc.), Social, Mobile and Search, etc. efforts in partnership and with the support of agencies (Media agency, Social agencies, Search agency, etc.).

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree required

Related Work Experience:

  • 7-10 years of experience in a client-side or agency-side Media Planning or Investment role; complimented by proven proficiency in integrated communication planning across Owned, Earned, Shared and Paid touchpoints

  • High level of acumen on audience planning, data science, digital media (incl. programmatic, retail media networks) and paid social

  • Understanding of media measurement and full funnel measurement & optimizations

  • Has worked in a highly matrixed, cross-functional organization.

  • CPG experience an asset, broad industry experience preferred.

  • Experience on large, multi-channel marketing campaigns incl. integrated media partnerships

Functional Skills:

  • Experienced in Audience planning, connections planning across Owned, Earned, Shared and Paid, with a functional expertise in paid media planning (brand & commerce) and investment

  • Interprets business and consumer data to develop insightful solutions to business problems. Translates business objectives and priorities into strategic briefs that guide the industry + agency partner direction.

  • Identify, nurture and leverage external industry and agency partnerships. Serve as the day-to-day manager of Connections & Media plans, industry partners + agency deliverables.

  • Provide a consumer-first lens to all Connectionsplans and drive vision across a broad cross-functional team of internal and external constituents including Brand, PR, Content, Assets, Legal, Business Affairs

  • Understands and is able to simply communicate complex trends in the media landscape and consumer media behavior

Pay Range:

United States of America: 139,600 USD - 157,900 USD

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
