Description

Senior Manager, Email & Lifecycle Marketing

Reporting to: Director of Relationship Marketing

Department: Marketing - Relationship Marketing

Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)

Position Summary

Grand Circle Corporation is the leader in international travel, adventure and discovery for Americans aged 50+. Headquartered in Boston, MA, and with more than 35 offices globally, more than two million Americans have traveled with our award-winning travel brands: Grand Circle Cruise Line, Overseas Adventure Travel and Grand Circle Travel.

We're looking for a strategic, hands-on marketer to help scale email and lifecycle marketing as a core driver of customer growth and engagement at GCC.

Today, our lifecycle program is early in its maturity, with a limited set of triggered streams and a broader program that is primarily scheduled. We see a significant opportunity to evolve toward a more automated, behavior-based relationship marketing model - but the roadmap is still being defined.

This role will partner closely with the Director of Relationship Marketing to help shape that evolution. An early focus will be improving onboarding and conversion of new travelers while helping build the broader lifecycle capabilities needed to support long-term growth. The right candidate will bring a mix of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with the ability to turn ideas into practical, scalable programs.

GCC has the energy of a smaller, entrepreneurial team, with the history and complexity of a long-standing organization. Change happens through strong relationships, clear thinking, and demonstrated impact - so this role requires someone comfortable operating in ambiguity and helping move ideas forward.

This is a lean, high-trust environment where priorities are actively managed and focus matters. We're looking for a self-starter who is excited to build, test, and improve how lifecycle marketing works - including identifying smarter ways of working through AI and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Lifecycle Strategy & Program Development

  • Partner in evolving lifecycle strategy across onboarding, nurture, conversion, and retention
  • Help shape a roadmap to expand lifecycle marketing beyond current triggered programs
  • Partner with new customer acquisition team to identify and improve lifecycle touchpoints that increase conversion, engagement, and long-term customer value
  • Translate customer behavior and performance data into clear journey frameworks and messaging strategies

Email Execution & Contact Strategy

  • Own day-to-day execution of email campaigns, including planning, briefing, and deployment
  • Manage the contact strategy and calendar to balance business needs with customer experience
  • Identify opportunities to shift from scheduled campaigns to automated, behavior-based messaging

Segmentation & Personalization

  • Partner with Analytics and Data Science to refine segmentation and targeting
  • Translate strategy into clear business rules and execution requirements
  • Identify opportunities to evolve from static targeting to more dynamic, behavior-based personalization

Testing & Optimization

  • Define and establish a structured testing approach across messaging, timing, content, and offers
  • Analyze results and turn insights into clear, actionable next steps
  • Continuously improve performance through disciplined testing and iteration

Marketing Ops & Program Scaling

  • Partner closely with Marketing Ops to improve how email programs are built, QA'd, and launched
  • Help create clearer processes, documentation, and workflows to support scale
  • Bring a continuous improvement mindset to how lifecycle marketing operates

AI & Smarter Ways of Working

  • Identify practical ways to use AI to improve speed, quality, and scalability of marketing work
  • Experiment with new tools and approaches to support content, testing, segmentation, and analysis
  • Help introduce efficient, real-world applications of AI into day-to-day workflows

Qualifications

  • 6-10 years of experience in email, CRM, or lifecycle marketing
  • Experience building or evolving lifecycle programs in environments that are not fully mature
  • Strong understanding of segmentation, triggered messaging, and performance optimization
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator who can influence without direct authority
  • Self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and bringing structure to evolving programs
  • Interest in applying AI and new tools to improve how marketing gets done
  • Clear communicator who can translate ideas into actionable plans

Total Rewards

The base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000 annually for employees based in Boston, MA. Final compensation may vary and will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus and first-class benefits, which include:

  • Health & wellness: Comprehensive and heavily subsidized medical, dental, and vision plans, plus on-site gym access, holistic wellness sessions, and group fitness classes
  • Time for you: Substantial Paid Time Off (PTO), and 11 paid holidays - including Juneteenth, Memorial Day, and Labor Day - and Summer Fridays. Plus extensive parental leave, with up to 12-16 weeks paid leave at 100% base salary.
  • Travel more, spend less: 50% off our trips for you and a companion, 25% for additional immediate family members, and exclusive quarterly associate travel deals
  • Your future, secured: 401(k) with company match, life insurance, and disability coverage
  • Continuous growth: Tuition assistance for both professional and personal development, opportunities for professional development through overseas travel, and direct access to Pinnacle Leadership & Team Development
  • Extra perks: Commuter benefits, FSA options, pet insurance, home & auto discounts, and paid volunteer time off to give back to the community
