Amazon"s Global Road Safety (GRS) organization is looking for a seasoned, high-judgment leader to lead Amazon's external engagement for on-road safety performance across our worldwide delivery and transportation operations. This is a high-visibility, externally focused role that sits at the intersection of safety operations, public affairs, and strategic communications, reporting into Amazon"s Global Road Safety leader.
Every day, Amazon moves millions of packages to customers around the world while upholding a relentless commitment to safety for our drivers, for the communities we serve, and for every road user. The Senior Manager, Global Road Safety Engagement will translate Amazon"s strong and continuously improving safety record into compelling external narratives, proactive policy positions, and durable partnerships that advance road safety for commercial drivers and the general public worldwide.
In this role, you will build and lead a team of engagement professionals while developing and executing Amazon"s global strategy for external safety engagement - shaping how we tell our safety story, who we tell it to, and how we influence the public policy landscape to improve safety for the entire industry. You will build trust with regulators, legislators, media, NGOs, and academic institutions across multiple geographies. You will also partner deeply with internal teams - Safety, Operations, Legal, Public Policy, and Public Relations - to create and execute a strategy that amplifies Amazon's message on road safety.
This is a role for someone who has bias for action, thinks big, earns trust through transparency and expertise, and is energized by the opportunity to build a high-performing team and help shape the future of commercial road safety on a global stage.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter
