Job Summary
Finance Operations is the architectural backbone of Goosehead’s finance and accounting organization. We design, build, and optimize the processes and systems that transform back-office finance operations into highly automated and scalable strategic capabilities.
The Senior Manager, Finance Systems serves as the lead technical architect and steward of Goosehead’s financial technology ecosystem, ensuring the reliability, integrity, scalability, and effective adoption of critical finance platforms. This is a high-impact individual contributor role for a seasoned leader who excels in complex system environments, data-driven problem solving, hands-on technical ownership, and cross-functional partnership.
This role owns the end-to-end lifecycle of our back-office finance platforms supporting revenue recognition, accounting, finance, and procurement operations. The primary objective of the role is to continuously evolve manual and fragmented workflows into streamlined, automated, scalable, and well-controlled business processes.
The Senior Manager, Finance Systems is responsible for maintaining system stability, strengthening data integrity, and designing scalable architecture that supports operational excellence across the CFO organization. This role also serves as the primary point of contact for finance system administration, end-user technical support, platform training, and process enablement to ensure business users leverage financial systems effectively and consistently.
This position partners closely with Accounting, FP&A, Procurement, and Internal Audit teams to enhance and support platforms including NetSuite, Coupa, Alteryx, and Workiva, while collaborating with Goosehead’s IT and Data organizations to leverage enterprise technologies such as Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, Salesforce, and Workday.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Own and administer core finance systems including NetSuite, Coupa, Alteryx, Omnea, and Workiva, ensuring stability, performance, and scalability
Manage finance system configurations, environments, integrations, user access, security, and vendor relationships
Serve as the primary point of contact for finance system support, troubleshooting, end-user training, and platform enablement across Accounting, FP&A, AP, AR, and Procurement teams
Support Finance Operations through timely issue resolution, root cause analysis, process guidance, and continuous system improvement
Design, maintain, and optimize integrations, APIs, ETL processes, and financial data pipelines across enterprise platforms
Ensure financial data integrity, reconciliation, governance, and compliance across systems
Partner with Finance, IT, and Enterprise Data teams to deliver reporting, dashboards, analytics, and process improvements
Lead system upgrades, enhancements, testing, deployments, and change management initiatives across the finance technology ecosystem
Enforce SOX controls, audit requirements, segregation of duties, and system security standards to maintain a strong control environment
Drive automation, workflow optimization, and scalable process improvements scripting and automation tools
About You / Experience and Education
Fluent in both Finance and Technology concepts with the ability to translate between accounting requirements (GAAP, SOX, controls) and technical system design (APIs, integrations, and data models) across the CFO organization.
Possess an architectural mindset with strong analytical skills and the ability to identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and points of failure within complex financial systems and integrations.
Highly independent and self-directed, with the ability to navigate cross-functional environments, influence stakeholders, and drive finance systems strategy with minimal oversight.
Demonstrated technical aptitude partnering with Engineering, IT, and Data teams to design scalable integrations, automation frameworks, and system logic that maintain strong data integrity and operational reliability.
Proven ability to collaborate across business functions to ensure upstream operational and product changes are accurately reflected within downstream financial systems, reporting, and the general ledger.
Basic Qualifications
7+ years of experience in finance systems, ERP administration, or finance operations technology.
Deep hands-on expertise administering and optimizing NetSuite, Coupa, and Alteryx.
Proven experience owning finance system roadmaps
Strong prioritization skills with the ability to communicate tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership
Experience serving in a technical role on multiple ERP or enterprise finance system implementations.
Experience designing and supporting integrations, enterprise data platforms, and reporting tools
Required Skills and Abilities
Advanced technical expertise in Coupa administration, configuration, procurement workflows, and platform support
Advanced technical expertise in Alteryx workflow development, automation, and data transformation processes
Advanced technical expertise in NetSuite administration, financial modules, saved searches, workflows, and system configuration
Strong proficiency with SQL, Python, or similar scripting and data analysis tools
Experience working with APIs, ETL processes, middleware platforms, and enterprise system integrations
Strong understanding of accounting operations, financial controls, audit requirements, and finance business processes
Ability to troubleshoot complex system and data issues through root cause analysis and structured problem solving
Strong communication, documentation, end-user support, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive initiatives independently within a fast-paced environment
