Senior Manager, Human Rights & Third-Party Risk Compliance

CBRE is seeking a Senior Manager, Human Rights & Third-Party Risk Compliance to strengthen and embed our approach to responsible business conduct across our operations and supply chain. This global role is intentionally balanced:approximately 50% focused on human rights due diligence and modern slavery/worker welfare topics, and 50% focused on third-party risk and compliance controls monitoring. You will lead cross-functional delivery, drive continuous improvement, and translate regulatory and client requirements into practical, scalable processes and guidance for colleagues across our business and functions.

Human Rights & Modern Slavery Risk (approx. 50%)
  • Lead the ongoing development, implementation, and enhancement of CBRE's global human rights framework, including policies, standards, procedures, controls, governance documentation, and operational guidance.
  • Translate human rights standards and regulatory expectations into clear, actionable guidance and minimum requirements for internal teams and suppliers.
  • Own the global framework, minimum standards, tools, and guidance for modern slavery and human rights transparency obligatory and voluntary reporting initiatives, and provide central coordination, quality assurance, and enablement support to regional and country teams responsible for statutory disclosures
  • Own and maintain human rights governance artefacts (risk registers, controls status and dashboards/metrics) to support leadership oversight and decision-making.
  • Support the triage, escalation, governance, and remediation management of supplier-related human rights, labor practices, or worker welfare concerns in partnership with Procurement, Compliance and business leadership teams.
  • Monitor emerging global regulatory developments, enforcement trends, investor expectations, and industry best practices relating to human rights, modern slavery, translating impacts into program enhancements.
  • Engage with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive remediation and continuous improvement for identified human rights risks.
Third-Party Risk & Compliance (approx. 50%)
  • Support the oversight of the global third-party risk and compliance operating model across onboarding, ongoing monitoring, periodic reviews, and lifecycle governance activities, aligned to CBRE's Third-Party Risk Management Policy and Methodology.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness and status of third-party due diligence and incidents and ensure appropriate auditable documentation and escalation.
  • Partner with Legal and Procurement to verify that due diligence requirements are appropriately embedded into contracting, codes of conduct and operational processes.
  • Provide governance reporting for senior leadership and represent the program in internal/external audits and control reviews.
  • Advise stakeholders on practical compliance approaches and support issue management for supplier incidents or adverse findings.
Training, Awareness & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Develop and oversee the global training and awareness strategy for human rights and third-party compliance risks
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships across Procurement, Operations, Legal, Sustainability, Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Audit, and business leadership teams to drive accountability and program maturity.
  • Promote a culture of ethical business conduct, responsible sourcing, transparency, and proactive risk management across the organization and supply chain.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-10 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Significant experience in human rights due diligence and/or responsible sourcing, including strong working knowledge of the UN Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights (UNGPs), ILO Core Conventions, and OECD Due Diligence Guidance.
  • Experience designing or operating third-party risk/compliance processes (e.g., supplier onboarding due diligence, sanctions/AML screening, bribery & corruption controls, risk assessments, and ongoing monitoring) in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Proven ability to translate complex requirements into practical guidance, workflows, and training materials that drive consistent adoption across functions and geographies.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills; able to influence, drive change, and deliver outcomes in a fast-moving environment.
  • Analytical mindset with experience using risk data to identify trends, prioritize effort, and produce clear management information (dashboards, metrics, and evidence packs).
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in law, compliance, sustainability, business, social sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for frontline operations, procurement teams, and senior leadership.

Preferred / Key Competencies

  • Experience supporting global statutory modern slavery reporting obligations and human rights transparency disclosures
  • Experience working with supplier risk management tools and screening platforms (e.g., Achilles, EcoVadis, LexisNexis, Sedex, IntegrityNext, or equivalent systems).
  • Experience partnering with Legal on contract clauses and with Operations on practical implementation in sites/projects.
  • Experience working across Global teams in a multicultural environment; pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
