ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Internal Medicine Medical Affairs, Established Brands and Women s Health is an integral member of the Internal Medicine Medical Affairs organization. This individual will provide scientific, medical, and operational support across the Established Brands and Women s Health portfolios, partnering closely with Medical Affairs leadership to execute strategic priorities, support product maintenance and defense activities, and respond to evolving portfolio needs.
The role will support a broad and complex portfolio of established medicines, including products that may require ongoing medical assessment related to supply, regulatory, safety, labeling, lifecycle management, and reputational considerations. This individual will bring scientific expertise, strong project management skills, and an understanding of Medical Affairs ways of working to support cross-functional activities with internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
The Senior Manager will work in a matrixed environment and collaborate with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Safety, Legal, Communications, Medical Information, Pharmaceutical Global Supply, country medical colleagues, and other partners to ensure high-quality, scientifically appropriate, and timely execution of portfolio-related deliverables. This individual is expected to demonstrate customer-focused medical professionalism, integrity, and a patient-centered mindset.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Support portfolio strategy and lifecycle management
Support Medical Affairs leads in the development and execution of strategies and tactics for Established Brands and Women's Health products.
Assist with product maintenance and defense activities, including medical assessments related to product exits, labeling changes, supply issues, quality topics, reformulation efforts, and other portfolio needs.
Contribute to medical evaluations of medically necessary or medically significant products, including gathering scientific background, summarizing data, and supporting internal decision-making.
Assist with assessment of patient, physician, payer, and reputational considerations across assigned portfolio activities. [
Support cross-functional issue management
Partner with Medical Affairs leads and cross-functional colleagues including Regulatory, Safety, Legal, Communications, Medical Information, Pharmaceutical Global Supply, and country medical teams to support timely responses to product inquiries and emerging issues.
Support coordination of materials and inputs related to supply interruptions, out-of-stock situations, regulatory inquiries, labeling updates, safety signals, and other time-sensitive portfolio matters.
Help prepare background documents, scientific summaries, meeting materials, and decision-support content for internal governance discussions and cross-functional reviews.
Develop and review scientific and medical content
Participate in the development and review of medical, promotional, educational, training, congress, and internal communication materials as a scientific and therapeutic area resource.
Support creation and maintenance of global medical-to-medical content for use by country medical colleagues.
Conduct scientific literature searches, competitive intelligence reviews, data summaries, and therapeutic area background assessments to support medical strategy and execution.
Ensure scientific information is communicated clearly, accurately, and in a medically appropriate context.
Support scientific communications and external engagement
Conduct scientific literature searches, competitive intelligence reviews, and therapeutic area assessments to support medical strategy and portfolio activities.
Support development, review, and maintenance of scientific communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with publication-related activities, including literature reviews, manuscript support, congress materials, and scientific content development.
Provide scientific and operational support for advisory boards, expert consultations, professional society engagements, and patient advocacy initiatives.
Support medical insight gathering activities and help synthesize findings into actionable recommendations for Medical Affairs leadership.
Drive operational excellence and collaboration
Provide project management support for Medical Affairs-led initiatives, including tracking deliverables, timelines, stakeholder inputs, and follow-up actions.
Support Medical Affairs meetings, working groups, and governance processes through agenda development, content preparation, documentation, and action tracking.
Collaborate effectively across global, regional, and country teams to support alignment and execution of portfolio priorities.
Operate with flexibility, accountability, and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
