Position Summary
The Senior Manager of Board Development works in a collaborative and integrated manner across the Impact Team as well as across all other areas of United Way of Central Indiana to ensure the health and resilience of the nonprofit sector through strengthened organizational governance. The Senior Manager of Board Development is responsible for establishing standards and systems that ensure the delivery of high-quality training and development programs for community-based organization boards. This work strengthens board governance and supports the long-term sustainability of the nonprofit sector in Central Indiana. The role also partners with the Sector Support Director and the Vice President of Government and Sector Relations to develop strategy and drive continuous improvement initiatives related to board development and sector support efforts.
The Senior Manager provides strategic leadership for board development programming including design and delivery, and oversight of contracted staff. The role also manages incentive funding for participating organizations and provides or coordinates technical assistance to nonprofit partners. Through this work, the Senior Manager ensures programs and resources are delivered effectively, fosters collaboration across the sector, and supports continuous improvement in performance and impact. This position is funded by a grant that is currently anticipated to provide funding for approximately three years. Continued employment is subject to organizational needs and the availability of grant funding.
