The Manager of Data & Analytics is responsible for leading the organization's Data & Analytics team, delivering scalable, secure, and enterprise-grade data solutions that enable business decision-making and support the company's digital and AI strategy. This role provides leadership across people management, delivery execution, stakeholder engagement, data engineering, business intelligence, and continuous innovation.

The Manager of Data & Analytics will lead a team of data engineers, analytics developers, BI developers, and contractors while partnering closely with business stakeholders, Enterprise Architecture, IT, and AI teams to ensure data platforms are modern, governed, scalable, and AI-ready.

This leader is expected to cultivate a culture of accountability, engineering excellence, continuous learning, and innovation while ensuring the team consistently delivers high-quality solutions that meet business needs and align with enterprise standards.

Position Details

Leadership & People Management

• Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing Data & Analytics team. 
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, career development discussions, and coaching sessions.
• Establish clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Manage internal staff and contractors, including work assignments, performance, budgets, and vendor relationships.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain top technical talent.
• Encourage knowledge sharing and cross-training to reduce single points of failure.

Delivery & Project Management

• Lead the successful delivery of enterprise data and analytics initiatives from defined business requirements through production.
• Prioritize Data & Analytics work based on established business priorities and strategic objectives.
• Facilitate Agile delivery practices.
• Remove roadblocks and proactively manage project risks.
• Hold the team accountable for quality, timelines, and delivery outcomes.
• Monitor progress and communicate status, risks, and dependencies to leadership and stakeholders.
• Ensure successful production deployments and ongoing operational support.

Data & Analytics Platform Leadership

• Oversee the development and delivery of enterprise Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Establish reporting standards and best practices.
• Oversee Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL Server, Azure SQL, data warehouses, lakehouses, semantic models, and enterprise
• Prioritize work based on business value and strategic objectives.

Technical Leadership

• Leads with accountability and ownership 
• Drive enterprise architecture and engineering best practices.
• Challenge the team to build scalable, reusable, maintainable, and automated solutions
• Promote data modeling, performance optimization, data governance, Git, code reviews, CI/CD, automation, and DevOps practices.

Innovation & AI Readiness 

• Identify data, analytics, and AI opportunities that improve efficiency and business outcomes 
• Lead data and analytics capabilities that enable enterprise AI initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and drive innovation across data and analytics.
• Develop team skills through training, certifications, proof-of-concepts, and continuous learning.

Vendor & Platform Management

• Manage relationships with technology vendors and implementation partners.
• Oversee platform licensing, support, upgrades, and roadmap planning.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams to align integration strategy with business objectives.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline.    
• 10+ years of experience in Data & Analytics, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or Database Development.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL Server, Azure SQL, data warehousing, Git, CI/CD, and Agile delivery.
• Experience delivering enterprise analytics solutions.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders.
• Experience managing employees and contractors.

Pay: Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For California this ranges from $150,000.00 - $177,500.00 plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
