Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering (Power Systems & Substations)Location: Fontana, CACompensation: $170,000-$190,000 + 15% annual bonusWe are seeking a direct hire Senior Manager, Electrical Engineering to lead high-impact programs focused on power distribution, substation systems, switchgear, and protection & control solutions. This role is ideal for an experienced leader with strong technical expertise and a track record of driving engineering excellence in utility or industrial power environments.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers and test techniciansDrive engineering strategy, innovation, and continuous improvement initiativesOversee design, development, testing, and validation of substations, transformers, switchgear, and relay/control systemsEnsure compliance with ANSI, IEEE, NEC, and industry standardsPartner with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, project management, mechanical engineering) to ensure design for manufacturabilityManage budgets, schedules, and resources for complex engineering programsSupport customer engagements and provide technical leadership on critical initiativesRequired QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field10+ years of electrical engineering experience, including 5+ years in leadershipExpertise in power systems analysis, protection & control, and medium/low voltage systemsProven experience managing engineering teams and large-scale projectsStrong knowledge of regulatory standards and electrical design practicesExcellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsPreferredProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseExperience with substation control buildings or E-House solutionsBenefitsBenefits vary by client and are confirmed at the time of offer.Benefits may include medical, dental, and vision coverage; retirement and savings plans; paid holidays and time off; supplemental insurance; and additional wellness or incentive programs.
