Senior Manager of Project Management

Job Description:

The Senior Manager of Project Management at Zoot plays a critical role in leading, developing, and supporting the Project Management team to successfully deliver projects that align with Zoot''s Corporate Strategic Plan and annual goals. Reporting to the Director of Project Management, the Senior Manager of Project Management is a strategic and collaborative leader who combines strong project management expertise with proven people leadership capabilities. This role is responsible for both the operational success of project delivery and the professional growth and performance of direct-report Project Managers. The Senior Manager of Project Management leads day-to-day project management operations, establishes and maintains project management best practices, develops team capabilities through coaching and mentoring, and ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with client and company objectives. In addition to project oversight, this position carries direct people management responsibilities, including workforce planning, performance management, career development, compensation recommendations and salary alignment, succession planning, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The Manager serves as a key liaison between executive leadership, project teams, clients, and internal stakeholders to ensure organizational priorities are effectively executed.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Team Leadership, People Management, and Development Lead: Mentor, and manage a team of Project Managers through coaching, performance management, and professional development initiatives. Establish clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and open communication. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance evaluations, and career development discussions to support employee growth and engagement. Develop succession plans and identify opportunities to strengthen team capabilities and leadership readiness.
  • Performance Management and Compensation Administration: Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle for direct reports, including hiring, onboarding, goal setting, performance reviews, disciplinary actions when necessary, and employee retention. Partner with Human Resources and executive leadership to ensure salary alignment, compensation recommendations, market competitiveness, and equitable pay practices. Evaluate individual performance against established objectives and competencies while supporting merit increases, promotions, and recognition programs.
  • Project Delivery Management: Ensure successful planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of projects. Support Project Managers in managing scope, timelines, budgets, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations while ensuring adherence to established project management standards, governance, and methodologies. Escalate and resolve project challenges that may impact delivery outcomes.
  • Resource Coordination and Risk Management: Collaborate with department leaders to coordinate project resources, staffing needs, and workload balancing across the project portfolio. Monitor team capacity and utilization to ensure optimal resource allocation. Identify project and organizational risks, facilitate mitigation planning, and drive resolution of issues that may impact project delivery, employee effectiveness, or client satisfaction.
  • Performance Monitoring and Process Improvement: Track project and team performance through key performance indicators, project reporting, utilization metrics, and status reviews. Facilitate regular project portfolio reviews and identify opportunities for operational improvements. Implement and champion best practices that improve project delivery effectiveness, team productivity, and organizational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration and Executive Communication: Serve as a key point of coordination between project teams, internal departments, clients, and executive leadership. Communicate project status, risks, resource needs, challenges, and successes while ensuring alignment between project execution and organizational priorities. Provide leadership with visibility into project portfolio health and team performance.
  • Project Management Standards and Organizational Excellence: Promote consistency in project management practices, documentation, reporting, governance, and accountability across the organization. Lead the continuous evolution of project management processes, methodologies, tools, and training programs to improve organizational effectiveness and project outcomes.

Education, Training, and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Bachelor''s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in related field. Management/supervisory experience required.
  • Or an equal combination of education and experience.

Background Check Requirement:

Physical Requirements:

All positions at Zoot require the ability to move about inside an office environment which includes the operation of computers and other office productivity machinery and frequently communicates with other employees, clients, vendors, and visitors. This position specifically requires long periods of sitting at a computer workstation.

Working Conditions | Work Hours | Location:

This position will take place primarily in an office setting. To optimize team performance, the workspace for this position is typically a cubicle setting in an open space environment. It is expected that exempt employees, and specifically this position, regularly and consistently report to work on-site, at Zoot headquarters, during normal business hours. Occasional nighttime and weekend work is required within the position. This position may occasionally require travel.
