ROLE SUMMARY

  • Clinical Supply Operations (CSO) is part of the CD&O, Global Clinical Supply (GCS) Group. Our purpose is to provide packaging, labeling, and logistics solutions to deliver quality patient-focused clinical supplies to the patient. We provide quality clinical supplies in a compliant, timely, innovative, and cost-effective manner. We continuously strive to improve our systems, processes, and capabilities in collaboration with our Pfizer and external partners in support of developing breakthroughs to change patients’ lives. 
  • Role is a People Management role that will lead a team in Clinical Supply Operations (CSO) organization (may include contingent worker oversight) accountable for managing the ERP system use and processes that include planning, scheduling, packaging, labeling, related documentation, materials management, and logistics.
  • Support CSO and cross functional efforts to help develop and implement Network/Process optimizations to streamline operations and ensure high quality and cost-effective delivery of clinical supplies (across both internal and external operations).

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for recruitment, supervision, talent management, leadership, and management of resources/workload to ensure team members are motivated and developed to their full potential and in line with the needs of the organization.
  • Act as technical / functional expert providing leadership and direction to direct reports and other teams across own and related disciplines, aligning team deliverables with CSO, GCS and broader organizational objectives.
  • Identify existing process/technology/system and product improvements and develop innovative, advanced new concepts that improve the work processes, operating models and products across own and related disciplines.
  • Leverage digital technologies, including AI and automation, to enhance operational effectiveness, improve decision-making, and drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and supply chain activities.
  • Manage and lead people, technological and financial resources at the Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit level for multiple projects and on-going work activities of moderate complexity within multiple sub functions; May lead by influence rather than direct authority.
  • Solve complex problems across own and related disciplines; Decisions impact Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit midterm objectives while long-term decisions are reviewed by senior management.
  • Manage teams that execute direction in support of Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit leadership objectives.
  • Provide input to senior leadership decisions that have impact on business direction within Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit​.
  • Responsible for building organizational agility to support and enable digital and physical supply chain to reliably deliver medications to patients for both internal and external operations.
  • Collaborate and build strong partnerships with partner lines and external vendors, leading through influence in matrix environments.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, quality and GMP requirements. Support investigations, corrective/preventative actions and inspection readiness.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS with 6+ years of experience or MBA/MS with 5+ years of experience

  • Experience in People Management of at least 12 months.
  • User/functional expertise in one or more of the following CSO Systems (EMD365, Prisym or CSDS) as well as demonstrated knowledge or experience implementing new initiatives, systems/technology and processes.
  • Knowledge of cGMP requirements and working in a highly regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership to foster innovation culture and strengthen organizational and operational agility.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated skills in strategic planning, managing, and measuring work, developing others, change management, negotiation, conflict management, and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated understanding of key interdependencies of supply chain processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, persuasion and customer/stakeholder relation, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to align personal and group objectives with the goals of the organization.
  • Experience using AI tools, including generative technologies such Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity. Demonstrated curiosity for exploring how these tools can improve clinical supply operations

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $124,400.00 to $207,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
