    Position Overview

    Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Manager Privacy & Compliance to lead and support enterprise privacy initiatives across North America. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining privacy and compliance programs while ensuring adherence to U.S. federal and state privacy regulations, HIPAA requirements, and corporate privacy policies.

    The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in U.S. privacy laws, privacy program management, contract review, privacy impact assessments (DPIAs), incident investigations, and regulatory compliance. This individual will partner with legal, compliance, technology, and business teams to support strategic initiatives, technology implementations, acquisitions, and ongoing privacy governance.

    Location: New York preferred; fully remote candidates within the U.S. will also be considered.

    Key ResponsibilitiesPrivacy Program Management
    • Develop, implement, and oversee enterprise privacy and compliance programs across North America.
    • Establish privacy policies, procedures, governance frameworks, and best practices.
    • Ensure ongoing compliance with HIPAA and applicable federal and state privacy regulations.
    Regulatory Compliance
    • Lead compliance initiatives for:
      • HIPAA
      • TCPA
      • CCPA / CPRA
      • Colorado Privacy Act
      • Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA)
      • Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA)
    • Monitor evolving privacy regulations and implement required program enhancements.
    Privacy Risk & Governance
    • Conduct and review Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
    • Lead privacy risk assessments, remediation efforts, and compliance monitoring.
    • Review contracts and business initiatives for privacy compliance.
    • Draft and maintain privacy notices, consent forms, and data governance documentation.
    Incident Management
    • Lead investigations involving privacy incidents, data breaches, and unauthorized access to PHI/PII.
    • Manage regulatory inquiries, complaints, breach notifications, and corrective action plans.
    • Oversee breach response protocols and incident resolution activities.
    Business Partnership
    • Support strategic business initiatives, technology implementations, acquisitions, research projects, and consumer communications.
    • Provide privacy guidance to legal, compliance, IT, operations, and business stakeholders.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to mitigate privacy and compliance risks.
    Training & Awareness
    • Design and deliver privacy and compliance training programs.
    • Promote organizational awareness of privacy obligations and regulatory requirements.
    • Support compliance audits and corrective action initiatives.
    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Healthcare, Information Management, or a related field.
    • 10+ years of experience in privacy compliance, data protection, or regulatory compliance.
    • Extensive knowledge of:
      • U.S. Privacy Laws
      • HIPAA
      • TCPA
      • CCPA / CPRA
      • State Privacy Regulations
      • Privacy Incident Management
    • Hands-on experience with:
      • Contract Review
      • DPIA (Privacy Impact Assessment) Reviews
      • Privacy Notice Drafting
      • Incident Investigations
      • Privacy Governance
    • Experience handling PHI, PII, and sensitive personal information.
    • Strong analytical, research, and regulatory interpretation skills.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Juris Doctor (JD) degree (preferred but not required).
    • Privacy certification such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).
    • Healthcare industry experience.
    • Experience supporting enterprise privacy programs across multiple business units.
    • Experience working with acquisitions, technology implementations, and regulatory investigations.
