The Role

The Sr. Manager, Strategic Planning & Execution Lead for the US Medical Affairs (USMA) Solid Tumor (ST) teams will report to the Director of US Medical Affairs Strategy and Operations. S/he will provide hands-on strategic planning and operational support to the Gynecologic Oncology and H&N Cancer therapeutic area heads and their teams. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, goal-driven, well-organized, and flexible individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This individual will be responsible for managing the planning and execution of the USMA ST strategic and tactical plans as well as other Medical Affairs solid tumor initiatives in the US market. S/he will collaborate with cross-functional matrix partners to ensure tactics are aligned with strategic goals, and they are executed on time and within budget. The candidate must have a broad knowledge of program/project management principles and experience in strategic operations in Medical Affairs organization within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.

This role is in Plainsboro, New Jersey, USA and is hybrid.

Work arrangement:This role offers flexibility to work away from the office for 20%-40% of a typical schedule. Employees may use this work schedule in increments of single days or multiple consecutive days, provided it does not exceed 40% within a 60-day period, and is approved by the hiring manager.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for overall USMA solid tumor portfolio strategic planning and execution.
• Support the development of USMA ST strategic and tactical plans, including timelines, budgets, and execution resources, under the guidance of USMA ST strategy leads.
• Partners with ST strategy leads to prioritize deliverables; and coordinate with Global Medical Affairs Project Managers to ensure a successful delivery of annual Medical Affairs Planning and associated deliverables.
• Ensure project deliverables adhere to compliance and/or regulatory guidelines.
• Track tactics progress, monitor critical path activities; elevate risks or issues, and provide regular status updates to strategy leads and teams. Command teams and hold members accountable for deliverables and risk mitigation.
• Manage asset budgets, track expenditure, and ensure cost-effectiveness. Work with finance business partner on month-end close process, financial projections, and long-range planning.
• Facilitate communication and collaborate across Commercial, Medical Affairs, R&D, Compliance, Regulatory, Finance, including brand project managers and other key stakeholders to drive US Medical Affairs' activities.
• Organize and lead ST strategy team meetings and cross-functional matrix meetings, including scheduling, set agendas, meeting prep, meeting minutes, and action item follow-up.
• Leverage digital tools to document and archive team meetings, deliverables, and other important communications.
• Support the planning and execution of internal and external meetings and workshops, including medical conferences, advisory boards, strategic council meetings.
• Support preparation for business review meetings, presentations, or communications on specific assets or programs.
• Lead annual goals and objectives setting for USMA ST strategy teams and ensure delivery of these throughout the year.
• Assist on ST Field operational needs, such as issue resolution, collect metrics, feedback, and support quarterly TA impact reporting.
• Champion innovation and best practices to drive operational excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in life science or MBA preferred.
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.
• Understanding of drug development with knowledge of functions such as Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Commercialization, and Regulatory.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in strategic planning, execution, project management and/or operational experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry. 5+ years with an advanced degree or PhD with 3+ years of experience. Experience in Medical Affairs preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills; proven track record of managing tactics in a matrix environment.
• Ability to influence across teams/organizations, including executive/senior management.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects and competing demands, attention to detail, and superior follow-through.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and being able to communicate effectively across functions and different levels of leadership.
• Experience of managing large budgets and complex timelines.
• Skilled to analyze and solve complex problems with excellent judgment.
• Experience navigating and succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a high degree of collaboration and teamwork.
• Ability to work independently, highly driven, motivated, and flexible.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:

$130,560.00---$195,840.00

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
