We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated Senior Manager, Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting to join our thriving team in the Energy industry. This is a permanent position that offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the financial growth and success of our company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of technical accounting, financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position will also play a key role in strategic financial planning, M&A activities, and other critical financial operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the preparation and review of SEC filings (10-K and 10-Q), including financial statements, footnotes, and management's discussion and analysis.
2. Provide technical accounting guidance and support to the finance team and other departments on complex transactions, including M&A, stock-based compensation, and lease accounting.
3. Ensure compliance with FASB, SEC, and Nasdaq requirements, as well as SOX compliance.
4. Manage the external audit process and liaise with external auditors.
5. Lead the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems (NetSuite, BlackLine) and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
6. Research and analyze new and proposed accounting, reporting, and disclosure standards issued by the FASB and SEC, and prepare memorandums documenting the Company's application of these standards.
7. Prepare and review XBRL tagging of financial statements and footnotes.
8. Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A Master's degree or CPA is strongly preferred.
2. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the energy industry.
3. Extensive knowledge of FASB, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance.
4. Proven experience in the preparation of audited financial statements, including footnotes, and SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q).
5. Strong understanding of ASC 606, stock-based compensation, and lease accounting.
6. Experience with financial systems such as NetSuite and BlackLine.
7. Demonstrated experience with M&A activities and external reporting.
8. Proficiency in XBRL tagging and reporting.
9. Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
10. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
11. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
12. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-oriented environment.
