## About the team As part of Walmarts Ecommerce org you will be helping build the future of omni-channel retail. The mission of the Search team within is to help customers find and buy the right products from our expanding selection of inventory across stores, Walmart fulfillment, and marketplace sellers.

## About the role Tech Operations for Search plays a pivotal role in shaping Walmarts online search and navigation experiences and this role focuses on the structured data that powers them.

You will partner across business, product, and engineering teams to design and deliver structured data enhancements that improve how customers browse, discover, and find products. You will lead end‑to‑end problem solving to ensure structured data quality, design, and governance fully support customer needs and business objectives.

You will align with cross‑functional partners to deliver scalable structured‑data solutions that elevate navigation and search performance. Success in this role requires both strategic thinking and hands‑on execution as well as being able to develop excellent cross functional partnerships.

### Key deliverables and impact

Search & Browse Data

  • Partner and align with Engineering, Data Science, Site Merchandising, and Product to develop and implement cohesive, measurable projects to clean and maintain the navigation taxonomy.
  • Spin up and run a governance and maintenance track that includes development, codification, and implementation of best practices to maintain data hygiene.

Opportunity Identification

  • Network across the organization (e.g., Search, Marketplaces, Site Merch, Order fulfillment, etc.) to understand business opportunities (e.g., Catalog quality, Data Design Improvements, etc.) and create opportunity assessments to help prioritize efforts and solutions.

Strategic Vision

  • Create compelling narratives around business/customer objectives that can be used to drive support and alignment across the organization. Partner with business, product, design, and engineering to create Annual and Quarterly strategies and priorities. Set up processes, meetings, and cadences to ensure deep alignment within Search and with the rest of the company.

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Own the process of defining our key operating metrics, setting goals, and tracking progress.
  • Track progress and drive the teams to create plans to ensure goals are met.

Complex Problem Solving

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business leads across the organization to solve intricate search problems ensuring a customer-centric approach in execution.

Execution Excellence

  • Partner with product, design, and engineering to define the process for creating quarterly product roadmaps, product reviews, monthly reviews, and analytics insights. Align business and product stakeholders across the organization creating processes and principles to help manage business operations (e.g., item or brand promotion levers at scale). Transform customer insights into actionable end-to-end strategies, coordinating rollout plans and mitigating risks to the business.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Build and communicate alignment around the Search experience direction, liaising with a broad spectrum of stakeholders in other organizations including business partners, site merchants, marketplaces, operations, product engineers, and designers.

## Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 years experience, direct experience in taxonomy, ontology, and/or information architecture design and implementation & ability to articulate how your designs solved business problems.
  • 3 years experience in business/product management of technically complex products.
  • Direct experience driving big, impactful end-to-end structured data initiatives from front-end customer experience to back end algorithms and infrastructure.

## Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in Retail, eCommerce, Search preferred (bonus points for having worked in or with a 2-sided marketplace).
  • Direct experience working with vendors to help scale the creation and validation of structured data.
  • Creative growth mind set in using LLMs and Gen AI tools to help multiply yourself.
  • Strong analytical expertise. Comfortable using data to glean insights. Experience creating operating metrics, setting goals, and holding teams accountable.
  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of software development processes, methodologies, and experience contributing to designing technical architecture.
  • Adept at diving deep into search including algorithms and technical details.
  • Excellent user experience intuition and a laser-focused understanding as to how data design can be leveraged to delight our customers.
  • Outstanding business acumen with experience of managing revenue objectives and driving revenue and customer growth via defining and delivering tailored customer experiences.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Stock.
