    Description

    The Senior Manager, Transportation Compliance leads the organization''s transportation regulatory compliance program, overseeing driver qualification, hours of service, drug and alcohol testing, and vehicle compliance functions across U.S. and Canadian operations. This role sets compliance strategy and policy, leads audit and corrective action programs, and serves as the primary liaison to field operations, corporate partners, and regulators on transportation compliance matters, escalating complex issues to the Senior Director, Sustainability, Health and Safety.

    The compensation for this position will be commensurate with education or work experience.

    What You''ll Be Doing:

    • Owns day-to-day management of the organization''s DOT, FMCSA, and NSC transportation compliance program.
    • Leads and develops a cross functional team of transportation compliance specialists, including performance management, coaching, and technical training.
    • Leads the internal transportation compliance audit program and directs preparation for DOT, provincial, and state regulatory reviews, including mock audits.
    • Leads continuous improvement of transportation compliance programs and systems to improve fleet operations and driver performance.
    • Partners cross-functionally with Fleet, HR, Legal, and SH&S to embed compliance requirements into operational processes.
    • Develops and communicates impact summaries of regulatory changes to leadership.

    What You''ll Need for Success:

    • Bachelor's degree in safety, transportation, business, or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience accepted.
    • Demonstrates 8-10 years of experience in a DOT-regulated transportation environment, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
    • Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations and audit processes.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • The role requires mobility within work environments, use of office equipment, lifting up to 20 pounds, clear vision and hearing, effective communication skills, and occasional travel for meetings and training sessions.
