    Superior is currently seeking a Sr. Manager - U.S. Federal & State Income Tax Compliance to join our team in Houston, TX (On-Site 5 days).

    The Senior Manager of U.S. Federal & State Income Tax Compliance is responsible for leading all aspects of the company's U.S. income tax compliance function, including federal, state, and related international reporting requirements. This role ensures accurate and timely filing of tax returns, supports the tax provision under ASC 740.

    The position will support tax planning and have significant involvement in mergers, acquisitions and integrations.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    U.S Federal Income Tax Compliance

    • Lead preparation and review of consolidated U.S. federal income tax return (Form 1120)
    • Oversee book-to-tax differences and M-1/M-3 reconciliations
    • Ensure timely filing of returns, extensions, and estimated payments
    • Monitor U.S. tax law changes and IRS guidance

    U.S State & Local Income/Franchise Tax Compliance

    • Lead multi-state income and franchise tax return preparation and review
    • Oversee apportionment calculations and nexus determinations
    • Monitor state law changes and ensure compliance

    U.S International Reporting

    • Oversee Forms 1118, 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865
    • Manage FTC calculations, E&P, Subpart F, and GILTI reporting
    • Coordinate with global finance teams

    Tax Provision Support (ASC 740)

    • Support quarterly and annual tax provision by providing accurate return-to-provision adjustments
    • Review current tax expense calculations for federal and state jurisdictions
    • Assist in analyzing effective tax rate (ETR) drivers and variances
    • Provide supporting schedules for deferred tax calculations, including state and federal attributes
    • Purchase price adjustments for new acquisitions
    • Collaborate with the tax provision team to ensure consistency between compliance and financial reporting

    Tax Audit & Controversy

    • Manage IRS and state audits
    • Respond to IDRs and support tax positions
    • Coordinate with advisors

    Leadership & Process Improvement

    • Supervise and develop tax team
    • Improve processes and data collection
    • Collaborate cross-functionally

    Education & Skills:

    Education: Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance; CPA desired.

    Experience: 15+ years managing federal and state tax compliance for multinational corporations

    Exposure to international tax concepts (GILTI, FTC's, BEAT)

    Significant experience with tax technology and automation initiative

    Core Competencies: Leadership, analytical skills, communication

    Experience in tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions and integrations.
