Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer-Digital Test will support digital manufacturing validation activities within AME, with primary focus on Digital Test Assembly (DTA) planning, coordination, execution, documentation, and issue follow-up.
This role requires a strong manufacturing engineering profile with the ability to work across product, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to evaluate assembly feasibility, tooling and operator accessibility, sequence validation, and related digital test activities.
While the immediate focus is Digital Test Lead support, the role is intentionally defined within a broader Manufacturing Engineer profile to allow future flexibility based on AME and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support assigned Digital Test Assembly (DTA) activities from planning through closure.
- Coordinate digital test scope, inputs, assumptions, stakeholders, and timing for assigned work.
- Review and assess 3D product and manufacturing data to support digital test execution.
- Evaluate assembly sequence feasibility, hand and tool accessibility, general manufacturability, and operator considerations in a digital environment.
- Document findings, prepare reports or presentation materials, and communicate results to stakeholders.
- Track open issues, concerns, and follow-up actions related to assigned digital tests.
- Work cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, program, plant, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Support standard work, documentation discipline, and continuous improvement of digital test methods and practices.
- Provide manufacturing engineering support that can expand in the future beyond DTA based on team and business priorities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of product manufacturing experience
OR
- Master's degree and no experience
OR
- At least 3 years of product manufacturing experience

Desired Skills:
- Manufacturing engineering experience in assembly processes, preferably in automotive, truck, or other heavy-duty product environments.
- Experience with Teamcenter Lifecycle Visualization Mockup; familiarity with Teamcenter Lifecycle Visualization Jack (Visualization Jack) is strongly desired.
- Experience working with 3D CAD data and digital product models in a manufacturing or validation context.
- Experience coordinating technical work across multiple functions and driving issue follow-up to closure.
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to take an active role and participate on cross-functional teams across multiple brands.
- Proven ability to initiate and support organizational change.
- Ability to support product development activities and influence design for manufacturability and DFA.
- Experience supporting Digital Test Assembly (DTA), digital manufacturing validation, virtual build, or similar activities.
- Experience with heavy-duty assembly processes; this is important for role fit.
- Exposure to the shop floor or plant environment, including hands-on understanding of assembly conditions.
- Experience reviewing tooling access, operator access, assembly sequence, and general build feasibility.
- Familiarity with JT models and digital mockup or visualization tools used in manufacturing reviews.
- Experience creating technical summaries, reports, and presentation materials for stakeholder reviews.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
