Job Description
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
- Improve process capability, efficiency, productivity, and product quality.
- Support precision machining operations including grinding, honing, turning, and milling.
- Program and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and production processes.
- Design tooling, fixtures, gauges, and manufacturing aids.
- Develop process plans, capacity analyses, and production cost estimates.
- Partner with Product Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Conduct root cause investigations using structured problem-solving tools.
- Design and validate test methods to ensure product and process quality.
- Evaluate capital equipment investments and develop business justifications.
- Manage equipment implementation and capital project execution.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
- Develop manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and engineering procedures.
- Analyze production routing, workflows, and manufacturing sequences.
- Support PFMEA development and continuous improvement efforts.
- Interface with customers regarding manufacturability, quality, and process capability.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Senior Manufacturing Engineer should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical discipline.
- 4+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience.
- Experience supporting precision machining operations.
- Knowledge of grinding, turning, milling, and honing processes preferred.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of ISO/IATF quality standards and automotive manufacturing systems.
- Experience with PFMEA, SPC, process validation, and quality tools.
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis and process capability concepts.
- Experience managing capital equipment projects.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
