This position does not have supervisory duties.Responsibilities Create detailed manufacturing work instructionsAnalyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and process flowDesign layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiencyConfer with Purchasing, Planning and Design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methodsSpecify equipment, materials, tooling, and gaging needed to performEvaluate products per design data and qualityConfer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processesConfer with maintenance staff to troubleshoot production equipmentTrain shop floor team members on productionDevelop and identify continuous improvement opportunities in support of plant objectives and goals with an emphasis on Lean ManufacturingDevelop/alter CNC programs to support continuing production activitiesApply statistical methods to evaluate processConfer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluate products according to established specifications and quality standardsWork collaboratively with cross functional teamsOther responsibilities as assignedRequirements & Skills Education Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial EngineeringFour to Ten years related experience and/or trainingEquivalent combination of education and experienceComputer Knowledge (Level of Proficient) Microsoft Office ProductsAutoCADVisual Fox ProERP SystemsCAD/CAM SoftwareExtensive Background and Knowledge Metal Cutting/ProgrammingMetal Cutting, Grinding, and HoningVarious machine controlsG code Programming and Macro Variable LogicComplex CNC program changes at the control on the shop floorWorking Knowledge and Understanding Shop Floor Gaging MethodsPPAP processBasic: GD&TEngine Assembly OperationsSPC principlesPhysical Requirements Work in a manufacturing shop floorLift and carry up to 35 poundsWork in safety sensitive areasStand on the manufacturing floor for the entire workday Frequently: bendsquatkneelclimbRequired Experience 5 years related experience and/or trainingMust have strong M.E. background in metal cutting/programmingEqual Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
