This position does not have supervisory duties.ResponsibilitiesCreate detailed manufacturing work instructionsAnalyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and process flow.Design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.Confer with Purchasing, Planning and Design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.Specify equipment, materials, tooling, and gaging needed to perform.Evaluate products per design data and quality.Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.Confer with maintenance staff to troubleshoot production equipment.Train shop floor team members on production.Develop and identify continuous improvement opportunities in support of plant objectives and goals with an emphasis on Lean Manufacturing.Develop/alter CNC programs to support continuing production activitiesApply statistical methods to evaluate process.Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluate products according to established specifications and quality standards.Work collaboratively with cross functional teams.Other responsibilities as assigned.Requirements & SkillsEducation (either):Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial EngineeringFour to Ten years related experience and/or trainingEquivalent combination of education and experienceComputer Knowledge (Level of Proficient):Microsoft Office ProductsAutoCADVisual FoxProERP SystemsCAD/CAM SoftwareExtensive Background and Knowledge:Metal Cutting/ProgrammingMetal Cutting, Grinding, and HoningVarious machine controlsG code Programming and Macro Variable LogicComplex CNC program changes at the control on the shop floorWorking Knowledge and Understanding:Shop Floor Gaging MethodsPPAP processBasic:GD&TEngine Assembly OperationsSPC principlesPhysical Requirements:Work in a manufacturing shop floorLift and carry up to 35 poundsWork in safety sensitive areasStand on the manufacturing floor for the entire workdayFrequently:bendsquatkneelclimbRequired Experience5 years related experience and/or trainingMust have strong M.E. background in metal cutting/programming.Equal Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
