Team Leadership: Oversee a team of 4 (1 Level I Engineer, 1 Level II Engineer, and 2 Technicians)We are seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join a growing manufacturing organization in Monroe, NC and play a key leadership role in supporting high-volume production manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on plastic injection molding, process optimization, equipment performance, and continuous improvement.This role is highly focused on production floor manufacturing support and requires a hands‑on engineering leader who can drive efficiency, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, optimize injection molding processes, and improve overall production performance in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in injection molding within medical device manufacturing, FDA‑regulated manufacturing, or plastic packaging production, along with strong leadership and cross‑functional collaboration skills.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the Manufacturing Engineering team of 4, including:1 Level I Engineer1 Level II EngineerProvide engineering leadership for daily production manufacturing operations, with a strong emphasis on injection molding performance and process stabilitySupport and troubleshoot high-volume manufacturing processes to minimize downtime and maximize throughputOptimize plastic injection molding processes to improve cycle times, scrap reduction, yield, and product qualityPlan and assign activities across the Manufacturing Engineering teamPerform annual performance reviews and support team developmentManage and mentor Manufacturing Engineers to support growth and development within the departmentConduct risk and opportunity assessments and coordinate actions accordinglyIdentify and address complex investigations to solve operational and production challengesConduct production investigations and determine root causes with associated corrective and preventative actionsCoordinate OPEX (Operational Excellence) activities within the departmentLead continuous improvement and quality support initiativesSupport Lean Six Sigma projects and process improvement effortsOversee equipment transfers and production integration projects, including equipment transfers from EuropeDrive improvements in machine utilization, production efficiency, and manufacturing outputDesign and optimize manufacturing workflows, systems, and resourcesCoordinate creation and maintenance of required documentation for manufacturing processesIdentify opportunities and propose solutions to reduce waste and production inefficienciesPropose and support actions to maximize safety, quality, and cost reductionSupport installation, startup, and validation of new production systems and equipmentInitiate and follow up on Change Control processes for department operationsCoordinate and implement corrective and preventative actions across the departmentCoordinate resolution of production delays, bottlenecks, and operational issuesEnsure manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulationsSupport development and continuous improvement of production, processes, and personnelCoordinate validation activities within the departmentCoordinate DOE (Design of Experiments) activities to support process improvementsLead investigations related to production quality deviations and customer claims, including report approvalsStay current on engineering trends, emerging technologies, and supplier capabilities through research, trade shows, and industry engagementSupport qualification and training of personnelOther duties as assignedQualificationsStrong hands‑on manufacturing experience required;
