This role balances hands‑on floor leadership with strategic engineering work, ensuring manufacturability, quality, safety, and efficiency. The engineer collaborates cross‑functionally with design, production, and quality teams to improve processes, support new product introduction, and evaluate new manufacturing technologies.Job ResponsibilitiesSupport advanced magnet builds in a highly hands‑on manufacturing environmentMake real‑time production decisions within established guardrails and elevate when necessaryProvide hands‑on leadership on the manufacturing floorEnsure alignment between production goals, safety standards, and quality requirementsGuide teams through complex or ambiguous production issuesAnalyze and improve manufacturing processes to reduce cost and increase efficiencyImplement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologiesConduct time and motion studies to optimize labor utilization and production flowDrive continuous improvement initiatives across the facilityDesign, specify, and support procurement of tools, fixtures, and equipmentEvaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation solutionsTroubleshoot complex equipment and process issues and implement corrective actionsEnsure manufacturability of new product designs in collaboration with R&D and design teamsDevelop and maintain work instructions, SOPs, and process flow documentationUtilize ERP and CAD systems (NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent)Support compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standardsPartner with product design and development teams for new product introductionWork closely with quality, production, and engineering teamsInfluence without direct authority across multiple functionsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field7+ years of experience in manufacturing or production engineeringStrong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality systemsProficiency with CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent)Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards that may include heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, and cryogenicsExperience with manufacturing ERP systemsStrong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skillsAbility to balance autonomy with structured escalationStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environmentWillingness to work required night/weekend/on‑call shiftsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Statistical Process Control (SPC)Experience with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)Experience in high‑complexity or high‑mix manufacturing environmentsBelcan is an equal opportunity employer.
