In this pivotal role, you will spearhead enhancement initiatives within a steel tube production environment, driving both continuous improvement and significant capital project developments. You'll apply your expertise in manufacturing methodologies and technical knowledge, particularly with automation and industrial equipment, to elevate operational efficiency, dependability, and performance. This position is integral to collaborating with teams from production, safety, maintenance, and quality, ensuring maximum asset value extraction.

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:**
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or as a project engineer.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**
- Proficient understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with industrial automation, particularly with Fanuc robotic systems.
- Familiar with PLC systems and industrial controls.
- Competence in interpreting schematics and conducting equipment data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Practical, hands-on approach suited for plant-floor activities.
- Skilled in communication and project management.

**CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:**
- Enhance production line efficiency through in-depth performance analysis and optimization.
- Innovate solutions to boost uptime, minimize cycle time, and advance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to automation alongside Maintenance and Controls teams.
- Collaborate with OEMs and integrators for system updates and redesigns.
- Drive initiatives aimed at increasing productivity, yield, and reducing scrap.
- Perform root-cause analysis and deploy corrective measures.
- Oversee and execute small to medium-scale capital and improvement projects.
- Develop detailed project scopes, cost estimates, and oversee execution.
- Offer engineering support to production staff routinely.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and troubleshooting documentation.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**
- The role is based in a plant setting within a heavy industrial steel tube manufacturing site, requiring strict observance of safety measures and personal protective equipment (PPE).
