Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Product Transfer)

Location: Mahwah, NJ (Onsite)

Job Type: Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support a large-scale product transfer initiative involving the transfer of multiple product lines to a new manufacturing facility. This role is focused on engineering documentation, process transfer, and cross-functional project execution within a regulated environment.

The ideal candidate has experience with product or process transfers, manufacturing documentation, and engineering support for new product introductions or site transfers. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-impact project while collaborating with engineering, quality, operations, and marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support product transfer activities from an external manufacturing site to a new facility.
  • Develop, review, and update engineering and quality documentation, including Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Design Change Packages (DCPs), and validation-related documents.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing routers (job plans) within an ERP system.
  • Support fixture development and gage calibration activities.
  • Coordinate Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities.
  • Partner with inspection and quality teams to support CMM program development (no programming required).
  • Assist with process updates related to cleaning, packaging, and product labeling.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and Marketing to ensure successful project execution.
  • Support project activities from planning and scoping through implementation and completion.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3 4 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting product transfers, process transfers, or New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
  • Experience working in regulated industries with strong engineering documentation requirements.
  • Working knowledge of:
  • PFMEA and process validation documentation
  • Manufacturing process flows and routing documentation
  • Measurement systems, gage calibration, and fixture development
  • Strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the medical device industry.
  • Knowledge of cleaning, packaging, and labeling processes.
  • Familiarity with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection processes.
  • Experience using Oracle or a similar ERP system.
