We deliver scalable solutions that protect critical assets and enable strategic advantage across the space domain.Position SummaryRevolution Space is looking for a dynamic and growth-oriented Senior Manufacturing Engineer who will coordinate and direct process development, process improvement and operations management activities in the Operations Department; is responsible for the design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of precision fixtures and tooling used in the assembly, integration, inspection, testing and handling of high-reliability aerospace and space-flight hardware.The role supports flight hardware production operations through development of robust, repeatable and contamination-conscious fixturing solutions that ensure dimensional accuracy, operator efficiency product quality and configuration control. The engineer will work cross-functionally with Design engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Test Engineering and program management.The position is full-time, onsite in Boston, MA.ResponsibilitiesLead, plan and direct the process development and process improvement activities of the Operations Department.Provide technical assistance and on-the-job training to the production employees and supervisors, and ensure all work is performed in an expeditious, complete, cost-effective manner.Develop, modify and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures and other specifications needed to produce hardware and deliverables.Review the work of others for accuracy, completeness and quality.Develop and implement long range process improvement plans based on cost, quality and delivery needs.Interface as necessary with production employees, supervisors, engineers, management and customers to develop a common understanding of needs, assess priorities and develop and implement process changes.Plan process development in advance, when possible, coordinating with the Production Control Department and in consideration of the manufacturing schedule to ensure economic and efficient use of material, people and manufacturing resources.Develop an understanding of current and potential process capabilities and process control limits.Implement statistical process control (SPC) where appropriate. Provide on-the-job SPC training to the production employees and supervisors. Work with others to systematically ensure product quality through process control techniques.Identify and order material, tooling and equipment necessary to support manufacturing operations. Recommend new equipment when justified by quality and/or cost benefits.
