In this role, you will be responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting‑edge Autonomous Underwater Vehicles. You will own Design for Manufacturability (DFM), tool design & selection, process creation & optimization, vendor sourcing & interaction, quality planning, and work documentation.What You'll DoLead the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and equipmentDesign and optimize production processes for efficiency, scalability, and qualityCreate and review technical drawings, blueprints, and process mapsIdentify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve quality, and increase productivityUtilize Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance manufacturing operationsOversee the execution of manufacturing projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standardsCoordinate with cross‑functional teams, including Design, Quality, and Supply Chain, to ensure smooth production ramp‑up for new productsCollaborate with suppliers to improve material quality and negotiate cost‑effective solutionsMentor and support junior engineers and manufacturing staffStay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends to drive innovation within the manufacturing processesRequired QualificationsDegree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard science5+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardwareDemonstrated ability to creatively deliver electromechanical hardware in a fast‑paced environmentDemonstrated technical leadership skills with an expertise in manufacturingPersonal experience physically manufacturing hardware via any means (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.) Work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plusEligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearancePreferred QualificationsExperience in maritime robotics (AUVs, UUVs, USVs, subsea sensors)Experience working with electrical systems up to 400 VdcSubsea cable splicing or fabrication experienceExperience with pressure vessels and/or industrial pressure test equipmentPrior experience working with JIRA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter (PLM), or Oracle (ERP) or equivalentsA strong passion for manufacturing and thirst for continuous improvementExperience with large scale high mix manufacturing at different stages of product maturityUS Salary Range$126,000–$167,000 USDBenefitsThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
