    Fulton, Illinois (Relocation Assistance Provided)

    The Opportunity

This role puts you at the center of tool and die work inside a high-tech manufacturing facility that builds auger equipment and power transmission components. You'll spend the majority of your time designing new dies and modifying existing tooling in steel, backed by a multi-billion dollar, 100+ year old global manufacturer that continues to invest in operational excellence.

You'll report directly to the Engineering Manager and partner closely with operations, maintenance, and safety, giving you real visibility and influence over plant-wide engineering initiatives.

    Why You'll Love This Role

You'll lead continuous improvement projects that directly reduce waste and improve safety, from welding optimization to workflow design. You'll manage cross-functional projects with real ownership over budgeting, timelines, and contractor oversight when new technologies come online.

This is a technical resource role in the truest sense. You'll be the go-to on mechanical and electrical design, pneumatics, hydraulics, controls, and gauging systems, using CAD software and simulation tools to design and implement the improvements you identify.

The organization has a track record of stability and is recognized as one of America's most innovative and enduring manufacturers, with promotional opportunities for engineers who want to grow.

    Your Day-to-Day

    • Design new dies and modify existing tooling and die work in steel
    • Lead root cause analysis on production issues and implement corrective actions, then monitor outcomes
    • Run time studies and drive workflow and productivity improvements
    • Conduct safety audits and recommend enhancements across departments
    • Use CAD and simulation software to model and implement process changes
    • Partner with maintenance and safety teams on plant-wide engineering initiatives

    What We're Looking For

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
    • 3+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience (2-5 years ideal)
    • Strong background in pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical/electrical systems
    • CAD proficiency; simulation software experience preferred
    • ERP experience, SAP strongly preferred
    • Proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite

    Preferred:

    • Welding experience or CWI certification
    • Tooling and die experience
    • Familiarity with API certification standards
    • Time study experience and Lean/Continuous Improvement methodology

    Why Candidates Say Yes

    • Tooling and die ownership with a company that's investing in the equipment and process
    • Backed by a Fortune 700, century-plus-old organization with genuine stability
    • Direct line to the Engineering Manager and real cross-functional influence
    • Relocation assistance to Fulton, IL
    • Promotional runway within a large, established manufacturer
