AtkinsRéalis, one of the ENR top ranked firms for Ports and Marine Facilities, has a longstanding history in Florida and the rest of the nation with a portfolio of high-profile ports and marine projects for clients such as Port Miami, Port Everglades and Port Canaveral.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Delivery And LeadershipSupervise and perform engineering analysis and design, lead development of construction plans, specifications and cost estimatesAct as a responsible charge and engineer of record for contract deliverablesPerform inspection and condition assessment of ports and waterfront infrastructure. Conduct data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulationsInteract with contractors to perform construction administration functions including shop drawing reviews, site visits and RFI response, pay apps, claims and change order reviewPrepare material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, preparing text and/or work progression documents, and graphic presentationsEnsure that all project deliverables comply with applicable codes and standardsParticipate in team growth and development by providing mentorship and technical guidance to technical staffProject Management And Client EngagementServes as the primary point of contact on assigned projects and interfaces with clients, subconsultants and other internal and external stakeholdersManage multi-disciplinary projects in collaboration with design task leads and cross-disciplinary staff and subconsultantsDevelop and manage project management plans, schedules, and budgets. Actively manage risks, budget and schedule and provide routine updates and progress reports to the client and internal leadershipManage QA/QC processes on project deliverables to ensure all project documentation and deliverables are reviewed in accordance with corporate QA/QC proceduresPrepare scopes of work and fee estimates for proposalsAssist in client relationship management and business developmentPerform other duties as needed to support evolving business prioritiesAbout YouBachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering (minimum required); Master's Degree in Structural Engineering (preferred)10+ years of experience in deepwater marine and waterfront infrastructure design, preferably with a consulting firm; at least 3+ years of project management and technical leadership experienceDemonstrated leadership, and strong oral and written communication skillsAbility to work flexibly to meet business needs, manage multiple priorities effectively, and adapt rapidly in a fast-paced work environmentExperience with waterfront design codes and standards such as UFC, PIANC and ASCE/COPRIExperience in design and analysis for waterfront and marine structures, shallow and deep foundations, piles and sheet pile bulkhead; mooring and berthing analysisDomestic and international travel may be required (less than 10% of the time)P.E.
