Summary of Job Description

This role focuses on supporting the $100M transformation and repositioning of a resort through extensive internal and external communication and marketing efforts. Responsibilities include coordinating marketing strategies, managing PR initiatives, and overseeing social media campaigns. The role involves developing content for Marriott.com and multiple vanity sites, creating social media stories, tracking analytics, and responding to messages on various platforms. Additionally, the position requires maintaining up-to-date third-party listings, group sales tools, and digital signage across the property. Regular collaboration with PR and social agencies ensures consistent brand representation, and the candidate will also coordinate influencer visits and promotional events. This dynamic role requires an adaptable, resourceful self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

The hourly rate for this position is $28.60 per hour.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Full understanding of $100M transformation and reposition of resort; support and implement all tactical initiatives
  • Develop and manage internal communications with stakeholders. Distribute marketing reports, PR developments, upcoming media stay announcements, etc. 
  • Provide updates and content to external stakeholders (agencies and partnerships)
  • Assist in developing copy and maintaining brand voice
  • Assist in maintaining website content on Marriott.com, and 3 vanity sites
  • Coordinate paid and unpaid marketing strategy with Marriott Digital Services
  • Coordinate all promotional campaigns and resort updates with social agency and PR agency.
  • Work with PR agency on all media and influencer stay/site visits. Coordinate trip itineraries and stays. Track analytics for each.
  • Act as Social Media Champion
    • Create 2 social media stories per week
    • Schedule social media posts per corporate social media strategist as needed
    • Gather UGC on Instagram and Facebook for reposting
    • Respond to direct messages missed by responding services on all social media services
    • Review social media platform analytics and implement strategies to improve
    • Maintain 3rdparty listings for restaurants, events and resort (San Diego Tourism Authority, Visit California, OpenTable, etc.)
    • Update and maintain group selling tools to include Cvent, Q9 Proposal, Ceros, and Empower
    • Complete all PRs and POs in Adaco and work with Director of Purchasing to ensure they are properly allocated
    • Serve as champion and trainer for all digital signage around property
    • Maintain property information in GXP to ensure everything is named and routed properly throughout the renovation
    • Upload and maintain all content on Bynder asset management platform
    • Coordinate with food & beverage department to plan and execute marketing plans for any holiday offerings
    • Review and coordinate changes for internal/external phone system
    • Handle all on-property printing through FedEx location
    • Design and create collateral for all departments as needed
    • Consistent monitoring marketing and hospitality industry trends; researching and evaluating opportunities
    • Ensure all in-house guest communication and associate communication is relevant and seasonally up to date; create and maintain calendars
    • Carries out supervisor requests in accordance with hotel policies and standard operating procedures
    • Follow 4 Keys service standards, standard operation procedures, and safety standards
    • Follow all appropriate policies and procedure while constantly striving to improve all standards of operations
    • Follow safety and security procedures
    • Adhere to attendance and reliability standards
    • Additional guest services duties as assigned by management

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related degree; equivalent field experience with proven history and industry recommendations may be considered
    • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate clearly with various departments including graphic design, public relations and advertising, as well as vendors, contractors and freelancers
    • Excellent interpersonal skills for representing organizations in public and during media events
    • Project management experience and time-management skills for juggling numerous time-sensitive projects simultaneously. Familiarity with project management software is also an asset
    • Good computer skills for generating reports, viewing marketing metrics, extracting data and sharing this information with other team members in project updates. Working knowledge of basic computer applications, programs and features is a must with experience in web page development or graphic design being very helpful
    • Resourceful self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment with the ability to manage multiple projects
    • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, MS Word, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite/InDesign
    • Editorial copy writing skills preferred
    • Must have the ability to push, pull, bend, squat, and lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
