Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct the search for a Senior Marketing & Communications Manager on behalf of an innovative, mission-driven independent school in San Francisco. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organization during its startup phase and play a critical role in building brand awareness, driving enrollment, and establishing the school's reputation within the Bay Area.
Reporting directly to the Head of School, this strategic and hands-on leadership position will oversee integrated marketing initiatives spanning digital marketing, communications, public relations, content development, events, community partnerships, and analytics. The ideal candidate is a collaborative marketing leader who thrives in entrepreneurial environments and enjoys building programs from the ground up.
Position Overview
The Senior Marketing & Communications Manager will develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communications strategies designed to increase brand awareness, generate enrollment inquiries, and strengthen community engagement. This role partners closely with school leadership while managing day-to-day marketing initiatives across multiple channels.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies that support enrollment growth and brand awareness.
Create annual marketing plans, campaigns, and content calendars across digital and traditional channels.
Produce compelling marketing collateral, newsletters, website content, social media campaigns, and promotional materials.
Manage the organization's website and ensure content remains current, engaging, and optimized for prospective families.
Lead storytelling initiatives across social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and other relevant channels.
Coordinate public relations efforts and cultivate relationships with media partners, agencies, and vendors.
Build strategic partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and local stakeholders.
Plan and execute marketing events, admissions events, open houses, educational fairs, and community outreach activities.
Analyze marketing performance metrics, website traffic, campaign effectiveness, and ROI to guide future strategy.
Prepare reports and recommendations for executive leadership regarding marketing initiatives and budget utilization.
Collaborate cross-functionally with academic leadership, admissions, and school administration to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.
Manage assigned marketing budgets while ensuring cost-effective execution of campaigns.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
7+ years of progressive marketing and communications experience.
Demonstrated expertise in:
Digital marketing
Social media strategy
Content creation and copywriting
Public relations
Marketing analytics
Brand management
Experience managing integrated marketing campaigns from strategy through execution.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary of $140,000-$150,000
