GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Senior Marketing Strategist is responsible for developing, executing, and measuring integrated marketing initiatives that directly support revenue growth, brand visibility, customer acquisition, and employee recruitment. This position leads advertising campaigns, brand development, digital marketing, customer engagement strategies, and cultural initiatives in alignment with company goals. The role requires creativity, analytical skill, and the ability to manage and balance high-impact projects that drive measurable business results.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
High-Impact, Revenue-Generating Initiatives
- Plan, design, and execute advertising campaigns for Mack, Volvo Truck, Volvo CE, and aftermarket services.
- Assist in developing monthly sales campaigns (new, used, rent/lease, parts, and service specials).
- Lead brand creation, messaging, and go-to-market execution for new business initiatives.
- Support sales and territory strategies including market targeting, CRM, Polk data analysis, customer proposals, and fleet presentations.
- Design sales enablement tools, binders, and presentations for employees and/or customers.
- Support recruiting campaigns for key roles critical to revenue generation.
- Lead digital demand generation efforts including website optimization, SEO, social media campaigns, and online reputation management.
- Produce high-quality photography, drone footage, video content, and product walkarounds to support sales and marketing campaigns.
- Manage and improve website content across department / product lines and service offerings.
Strategic Support & Operational Optimization
- Plan and manage trade shows, dealer summits, customer events, and open houses.
- Coordinate marketing resource management including event materials, branded merchandise, and promotional assets.
- Develop and maintain internal brand assets including letterheads, signage, career banners, and presentation templates.
- Lead company-wide employee campaigns supporting recruiting and retention.
- Represent Nuss on industry panels, trade association committees, external leadership groups, and employment branding activities.
Cultural Impact, Brand Legacy & Ownership Engagement
- Create storytelling campaigns celebrating legacy brands (e.g., Vintage Mack campaigns, trucking tributes).
- Support Nuss Museum, historical collection, and annual Open House event planning.
- Manage legacy brand content including copywriting, photography, and asset inventory.
- Collaborate directly with owners, general managers, and executives on strategy alignment and business planning.
- Lead community engagement and cause marketing, with emphasis on veteran hiring and local charitable events.
- Support and provide comprehensive support to ownership by managing diverse priorities and special projects.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not directly supervise staff but may oversee vendors, contractors, or project-specific contributors. May also mentor interns or cross-functional team members assigned to marketing initiatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field. Equivalent work experience considered.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in marketing, branding, or sales support.
- Proven success leading digital marketing, advertising campaigns, and business development initiatives.
- Experience in B2B or equipment/construction/trucking industry preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong proficiency in campaign development, digital marketing, and sales enablement.
- Ability to translate strategic goals into tactical marketing initiatives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to create persuasive sales and brand content.
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously.
- Proficiency with design software, marketing analytics, and CRM/ERP platforms.
- Demonstrated customer focus and ability to represent the company with professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.
- Strong analytical skills to measure campaign ROI and support data-driven decision-making.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Standard office environment with frequent computer and phone use.
- Frequent travel to customer sites, events, trade shows, and industry functions.
- May be required to lift and transport marketing materials or event items up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
