What if you could work on highly visible medical and electronic hardware products where your designs move quickly from concept into production and where engineers are expected to truly own what they create?
This opportunity is with a growing, innovation-driven product development organization seeking a hands-on Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to help lead new product development, production improvements and next-generation platform initiatives. The environment is highly collaborative, fast-moving and engineering-focused, with a small onsite team that works closely across mechanical, electrical, manufacturing and quality disciplines.
This is not a narrowly scoped CAD role. The position requires someone who enjoys balancing industrial design thinking, detailed mechanical engineering, manufacturability and real-world production support.
What Youll Be Doing
- Design and develop mechanical systems, assemblies and product enclosures for new and existing products
- Create customer-facing product packaging and external enclosure designs while also engineering the internal mechanical components and assemblies
- Develop molded plastic parts, cast components, machined parts and stamped metal components
- Support products throughout the full product lifecycle, including prototyping, testing, manufacturing release and sustaining engineering
- Partner closely with electrical engineering teams to integrate electronic assemblies and board layouts into mechanical designs
- Participate in production support activities, troubleshooting and manufacturing problem resolution
- Lead and execute engineering change activities including ECNs, deviations and configuration management
- Assess design changes for manufacturability, quality, regulatory and risk impacts
- Support design reviews, prototype builds and first article activities
- Work directly with suppliers, manufacturing teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful product introduction
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and change management processes
- Support thermal considerations and enclosure integration for electronic assemblies
What Theyre Looking For
