They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their onsite team and play a key role in the design, development, and execution of complex projects from concept through installation.

This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys a hands-on environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and solving real-world design and fabrication challenges. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to manage multiple projects while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed engineering drawings, models, specifications, and fabrication packages using CAD software.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Generate preliminary concepts, layouts, and drawings to support project estimating and bidding activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers, production teams, sales personnel, vendors, contractors, and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support manufacturing and installation teams by resolving design issues and providing technical guidance.
  • Maintain project documentation and engineering records from concept through completion.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and contribute recommendations for process and product improvements.
  • Organize and maintain engineering files, drawings, models, and parts databases.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, industrial, or structural design environment.
  • 5+ years of experience designing structural systems, fabricated products, or mechanical assemblies.
  • Advanced proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of structural metals, fabrication processes, welding, and engineering drawing standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work onsite and collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Occasional travel may be required for site visits, project reviews, or customer consultations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain licensure within a designated timeframe.
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Previous fabrication shop, manufacturing, or hands-on production experience.
  • Experience serving as a technical lead or mentoring junior engineers.
  • Background in marine, industrial, infrastructure, or heavy manufacturing industries.
  • Self-motivated, creative problem solver with a collaborative mindset.

Why Join?
